They guilt trip you and spout so much self-justified hate comments towards the author and readers, who are real people, over what happens in a fictional story, judge you under whatever standards they cook up, and generally make your reading experience as annoying as possible.

With the way they get so triggered over every fictional depiction of rape and whatnot, one would think they steer clear of these kinds of stories. True and understandable but that's not my issue. Perhaps I should have been more specific and less generalizing, but it's difficult to put into words. There are quite a few comments that you can tell are just out to hate on the comic for the sake of it.
Throwing mud is quite relatable if the plot really doesn't make sense. But Jinx, despite how it seems to follow a typical sequence in stories that play with angst, still has a story that holds. Yet here comes a flood of comments wailing that it doesn't make sense for Kim Dan to catch feelings. But him catching feelings is totally in character.
He was introduced as someone who grew up in misfortune and suffering and finds it difficult to assert himself when he needs to. He found an escape from that life by selling his body, a lot changed and all his immediate worries disappeared. Him catching feelings towards someone instrumental to that change, while not enjoyable to see, is consistent with the story so far.
That sort of development is not new, so it's quite predictable, but it still makes sense. And given what happened in BJ Alex, it's easy to expect character development. The way people claim that it's a nonsensical development... did they not know what they were getting into? Were they even reading the story?
Not everyone likes predictable developments like in this one. It's understandable to complain about developments in the story that you don't like. It's not like disliking the rape and SA and appreciating the story are mutually exclusive, but some people viewing the story with their ultracritical lenses can really be so deluded. If they're gonna paint this comic as something it is not, denigrate readers who appreciate the story, and act like they are morally superior, out of some obsession to hate on this comic... they are free to do so, and I am free to say whatever I want about such overbearing, insufferable zealots.

When did I ever romanticize rape? I for one am totally not okay with it. I'm all for not romanticizing it. But don't you think the claim that this story is romanticizing rape is still debatable? Most of the comments are acting like Kim Dan will never grasp the reality of his situation. Him falling at this point was totally a sensible plot development. I would understand if this story finished while glossing over all the rape. I still want a positive plot and character development, but at this point in the story, I think it's not the time yet. True, there are 40 chapters already, but given the pace so far, I'm not expecting it anytime soon.
But really, my issue here is that I wish people would put some thought into what they're posting here. Hating the character for doing something totally in character is just so nonsensical. The reactions are so escalated like the latest update was something totally unexpected. At this point, don't we already know that Jaekyung is problematic and Dan is flawed? I guess I just expected more empathy for Dan from the people reading this story. Hating the author, a real person who might come across all these comments, over a fictional story is even more nonsensical and unacceptable, even. They don't deserve it, even more so from nonpaying readers.
"Baby girls" should not even be reading this in the first place. And just because this is tagged as 'romance' does not mean the story is setting a standard to aspire to. I don't think Dan is contented with his situation, but maybe he thinks that since their agreement is that he has to be available for sex anytime, he's trying to cope, because while he doesn't enjoy it, he's totally dependent on Jaekyung, and I think he's still trying to repay his debt with his body. But having feelings is not voluntary, and I believe that Dan does not have the capacity to process his feelings in a healthy way. While Dan is already an adult, we were not shown how he grew up, so I'm led to assume that his problems (poverty, violence, among others) started while he was young and that he did not grow up in an environment that fosters self-respect.
Their relationship is more of a transaction, so as I mentioned, I think he's tolerating it. Personally, I'd rather another man come into his life to disrupt their relationship, but given that it is most likely Dan and Jaekyung will be the endgame, I'm just patiently waiting for what the author comes up with. Ofc, I'm not one to hold myself back if it ends up being disappointing, but I won't be damning the author for it.
