?? so gangrape turns into rape, but since the one raping him alone has a good face, some people will eat this up ... alright

That's because many people can read stuff in a detached way, viewing it as what it is intended to be: jack-off material, not a story you're supposed to get emotionally involved in. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I can enjoy both, but I was really hoping when the marks on him disappeared and he had that soft, swoon-y expression he would be gentle with his bride. But that soon went out the window. ╥﹏╥

That depends on the person tbh.
Some people have this rape-type situation as a kink, my dude. And I do not mean being the one that DOES the raping, but BEING the victim of it in their idealized fantasies. :P
This mostly falls into a self-insert fantasy category.
People who imagine themselves as the rapist; sure, VERY highly questionable people I'd be concerned around.
People who have a rape fantasy kink and like to self-insert as the victim while reading these stories; not really a level of concern.

it’s still concerning imo, since portraying it positively at all is dangerous as a content creator. + if someone has a fantasy of being sexually assaulted and thinks it’s something hot, they should really get a therapist. as a sexual assault survivor, i would rather have died than lived through it. it’s not something quirky, problematic and sexy. its not something naughty and different in the bedroom, it’s fucking awful.
i wish people would stop excusing everything authors do because the art’s good. it could’ve been a decent story with amazing art but it’s just gangrape and rape.

I wouldn't say they portray it as something positive. Pretty much all authors DO put effort into making it clear the bottom doesn't want it, but that more often than not turns into what I like to call 'braindead cocksleeve mode'. So while it's not portrayed as positive, it's usually not portrayed as fully negative either, most likely because of the non-con/rape kink many people have.
It's definitely not for everyone and I totally understand not liking it. Especially if you encountered it in real life as a reader. But it doesn't really have anything to do with needing therapy either, since sexual fantasies are controlled, idealized scenarios to begin with. Meaning: Just because someone has a rape kink for certain scenarios, does NOT mean they want to be subjected to it irl. (That's really not what sexual fanatsies or kinks mean, tho i know many people might not know that unless they are more involved in such topics themselves.)
I do very much agree tho that people gotta stop praising some comics to the heavens and back just because the art can carry hard enough, as we say as of late. Especially with stories that have the utmost horseshit of writing. And I don't just mean dislikable scenarios or behavior, just regular writing like conversations working well, character logic, etc..
I stopped counting viral comic clips of stories that looked good, I checked them out and they were SO badly written, I actually got angry I even wasted my time on them.
see, i never had a problem with the coworker. but she has pissed me off beyond belief
