Alrighty, after that psychological ride, I couldn't find more comments on Maiko's hand in all of this. We can all agree that Yui and Kei's relationship is pretty messed up; they're both broken and twisted in their own ways from shared trauma.
Maiko though. Maiko seems messed up, too, and affected by what had happened with her father / family (hence the locked box and the talk about appearances). I sincerely thought she was going to help Yui with his trauma as that one friendly support after the reverse card, but at the same time knowingly letting it all happen and supportive at that.
Urgh, dunno how to feel, but out of all the characters Maiko left me feeling the most iffy since she was in the position of confidante and a friend, yet also supporting the unhealthy relationship.... aslkgfljs guess that's enough procrastinating for the day
