I had found rainbow city in November last year and had left it to marinate since chapter 15 cause it was so good and I wanted to enjoy it all together rather than waiting for each chapter. As for the novel, i need visuals so i never gave any novel a try but with the amount of times I've seen you recommend it, it almost made me wanna try the novel lol.

Have you read Monster in the mist? I found rainbow city after reading this one and it has kind of a similar concept. Give it a try if you haven't read it already.

(⊙…⊙ ) monster in the mist ive read it and it was so bland, the plot was bland, and the characters had no chemistry. it can never live up to the genius that is rainbow city's intricatly thought out plot and the complex dynamic they have. sure it may seem similar in the general points, but rainbow city is a god compared to whatever tf monster in the mist was (╬￣皿￣)(But thank you for the rec)

I've read that one too and left it to marinate. The art is ethereal and mesmerizing, words can't describe how much I love it. When the artist was getting hated and was rumoured to be changed for season 2 at the start despite the heavenly art, i reached out to a person on twitter that supposedly translated fan messages for the artist in Mandarin and I wrote out a para that i absolutely love their art and that they shouldn't get affect by the hate and rather focus on us fans and that I hope that they stay for season 2 like that is how dedicated i was to the manhua only after reading a few chapters lol.

Also also also, i feel bad now for not defending monster in the mist ITS NOT THAT BAD, IF ANYTHING ITS SO GOOD! in comparison to all the popular bls now, it is soooo sooo soo much better than them and has an actual plot with slow romance!! I love it very much. ಠ‿ಠ

okay yea im not saying monster in the mist was bad, but it was just bland. okay maybe i wouldve liked it more if I haven't read rainbow city but after reading rainbow ctiy there's just no comparison. like bro i could really go for hours about the plot and why it was well written as well as a deep analysis on the plot points as well as the character's and why they are extremely in depth and well written WITH CITATIONS AND QUOTES FROM THE NOVEL OFC. like there was so much foreshadowing in rainbow city, so much of the charcter's intentions that are just impossible to cram into the manhwa. it's just maaaaan it's just too good like not only does it make you go "SO THATS WHY" it also makes you think deep about different parts of the events that happened in order to actually understand the characters better and understand why they did what they did. (but ofc if you want the essay, it's the weekend and I got time to type it out to you >:3)

That is sooo cool, i read this manhwa recently called Darkness Before The Dawn based on Kowloon City, part of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, southeastern China so technically hong kong but yeah, anyways I wanna visit that place so bad after reading that manhwa for reasons that will take a para to explain. yea you see the thing is I originally came from china so I spoke yk enough chinese to be able to hold conversations (idk if you've been there when the little mushroom manhua translators went on break so i translated chapter 25-29 before they got back and i deleted them) , i finally went back to visit my relatives, mostly just went to beijing tho AND OMG THE AMOUNT OF LITTLE MUSHROOM MERCH WAS INSANE. like they sold little mushroom pins EVERYWHERE, AND YOU CAN FIND HEAVEN OFFICAL BLESSING CARDS AT YOUR LOCAL GROCERY STORE. also there are little venders everywhere selling ice cream. AND I FOUND HEAVEN OFFICALS BLESSING ICE CREAM IN MY NEIBOURHOOD VENDOR. there was an entire shop JUST DEDICTED to merch of a chinese otome game. and for little mushroom, there was a shop that sold novel merch. (cause little mushroom merch is divided into manhua merch and novel merch) THEY SOLD THE NOVEL AND MANHUA AT YOUR LOCAL BOOKSTORE. like i admit my relatives bought me most of it (even though I told them they didnt have to but they insisted (￣∇￣")) BUT JESUS CHRIST THERE WAS SO MUCH DANMEI. obv i couldnt find any korean bl merch, i looked everywhere and the only thing I found was a chibi pin of "no love zone" but that was it. I found huge cardboard cutouts of Xie Lian, Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhang and ones of all the ML's from tears of themis. but like little mushroom isn't as popular as a lot of other things in china BUT THERE WAS STILL A LOT AND THERE ARE LITTLE MUSHROOM CARDS AS WELL. my relatives bought me an entire box (10 packs) and while shopping I bought another 11 individual packs. China's delievery system GOT SO CONVIENT like i hadnt been back in 7 years and SO MUCH HAD CHANGED. I could order merch and it would arrive in 2-3 days. but yea phewwwqw

Yea no problem! there's a lot of censorship in China so im surprised too but i guess there are certain bl's that are allowed. The otome games they got love and deep space yea but im talking about like "Lovebrush chronicles" and "light and night". Yea my relatives are really nice, but I also think its got to do with the fact they havent seen me for so long. Like they were a bit skeptical about it being bl but at the end of the day they still bought it ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶.
