it's kinda the same as why men like lesbian porn. some men might find it off putting that they're watching a woman get banged by another man, if it's lesbian porn it's two women, the man is not there as a distraction. however, the reason why bl is targeted and written by mostly women isn't just related to the sexual aspect. some women (fujoshis) are also obsessed with the romantic relationship aspect, not just the sexual part, but i've never seen a man who's obsessed with the romantic relationship of lesbians. however, it's similar to how a man is off put by the man in lesbian porn- perhaps while reading, say, shoujo manga, a girl is less inclined to imagine herself in the shoes of another woman, because in a biological sense, she's seeing the other woman as competition. but when the other woman is a man, it's harder to view him as competition. honestly, this is probably just scratching the surface of the psychology behind fetishization of mlm or wlw, there's probably way more going on that has to do with primal instinct, and even the whole topic of sexual orientation itself.

1) cause I don’t wanna see someone else’s vagina
2) cause in straight mangas the girls are always the weak ones etc, but in yaois the two guys can both be strong
3) the fact that there’s homosexuality, which can be a taboo topic, thickens the plot ( like when the guy can’t accept the fact that he’s gay)
4) straights are too vanilla

i forgot to mention but there's also that whole notion of "unconventionality" and "forbidden love" and "breaking boundaries". our generation is always searching for new, fresh ideas. heterosexual relationships have been viewed as the norm, even now since it's the most biologically logical (although studies have shown homosexual relations also serve a purpose in nature). women are always the "submissive" one in a heterosexual relationship, so perhaps it's just refreshing to see a man in that role.

all of this really can be boiled down to social science and psychology, but honestly the first female bl authors probably just got tired of the same old shoujo manga trope of the domineering male and submissive weak girl, and decided to "break the norm". homosexual relationships are still very much looked down upon by the general population in japan, korea, and china (where all the bl on this site comes from), so bl is popular there because young people want to explore new and unconventional ideas.

Coz we’re interested in men. BLs consist of mainly guys which is interesting enough to us, and watching them interact with each other and being in many different situations (One is hunting(top) and other being hunted(uke)) and expressing varying emotions that r more visible in men (e.g. being possessive ლ(´ڡ`ლ)) is intriguing to us girls, including the little added spices; the fan service (Nice bodies), the forbidden relationships and the secrecy that comes with it. How could we not like it? Lol ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄

ok but honestly i'm not gonna judge or condemn you for being exposed to explicit media. you're probably in grade 7/8 and i was too when i first started being aware of my own sexuality, sexual orientation, that kind of thing. there's nothing wrong with that. but what i do want to say that's extremely important (please take this internet stranger's advice to heart) is that fiction is FICTION and should stay fiction. many erotic fiction such as pornography and especially yaoi is unrealistic and oftentimes normalizes and romanticizes abusive or toxic relationships, which can be harmful to readers who are impressionable. so please just be careful not to let yourself believe in harmful stereotypes or fiction tropes!

Also the idea that sex is open thing. She still so young :( So many things that real world could offer for her. When i was 12 i enjoy outside or anything indoor. And yaoi would be the last thing I want to offer for entertainment. :(
i have like 3 younger sisters. I dont let them watch any yaoi or any rated SPG . Even tho Im fujoshi for 10years. It just a bad and dark side. :(

Ummmm... There r a lot of reasons for that.. I watched zetsuai and wanted to read bronze so I entered yaoi world... In fact, my reasons may be changed cuz it's been a while and in these yrs I've changed too so...... 1 - something new,
2 - seeing one leaving everything behind for their precious one, 3 - seeing those gave a different vibe and feelings which were so different. , 3 - sexy, those lines.... Ooh!...., 4 - since they can't have children and still choose to be together hit me cuz that's so hard , 5 - pitying, we humans being always wants to pity (inner hidden thought), seeing uke like that and then wishing for their happiness, 6 - being in rebellion,
7- some stories shows the mistreatment we have or do to others unconsciously, which can't be felt in shoujo cuz, there we have jealousy as a low key, specially slice of life stories,
8 - they give classes to u ( u know what I mean, ne!),,,, etc.
Actually, I started reading and kept reading don't know why... Since I've been reading for a while now I can clear my thoughts abht it..........
