I was gonna give this to 5 stars but retracted it back to 4.5 stars after the first sex scene. (Hold on before you get triggered). Right after the freckin discovery (that akira was not mamoru). It would have been better to make this manga a bit longer instead of jumping straight to sex. Like, u just escaped from the illusion that he isn’t a brother but actually a stranger that’s been living with u this whole time, and ur going to suddenly kiss and have sex with him? Without any reservations? This would have been a heck of a lot better if that part was better paced. That’s the thing that almost ruined what was otherwise a masterpiece of a story.
The dark emotions and deep trauma in this were really well portrayed. Even I shed some tears. Their characters and backgrounds were so well developed, and the story was just so very well written man. When kaoru finally accepted his brother’s death (particularly the scene where he put out the incense and pictures) I was so moved I even shed some tears bro. Plus seeing akira’s past and his shit mother hurt my kokoro.
This story is amazing and well written in so many ways, that’s why I was so disappointed by that sudden sex scene that came out of nowhere. It’s like it was put there just for the sake of making this a yaoi manga instead of a shounen ai tragedy slice of life. It wouldn’t have been so out of place if it happened a few chapters later, after kaoru had a little more time to accept reality and who was in front of him (akira). Anyways, I’ll still give it 4 stars since it was such an amazing story. This easily makes it to my list of favorites.
So that's what it is! I was wondering why I felt kind of odd reading the sex scene, but now that I've read your comment, I actually realized that that's what I felt! XD I was like, "Hey, this story's good! SO MANY EMOTIONS! I CRI!!!" but then, after the sex scene I was like, "Eh...meh...uhh, why don't I feel happy..."
Exactlyyyyy! I don’t usually pay much attention to it since it’s a characteristic of yaoi and all, plus it can really add to a story and make it meaningful. But for this particular story, it was just so out of place based on the pace it was going. That’s what made it really disappointing. I don’t say take out the smut scene completely, just give it a little more time to develop and grow, yknow? We can wait. The story’s a masterpiece after all
Amagassshhh this is my absolute fav in this genre so far! And I’ve read QUITE a few, so that’s saying something. I love the fl’s character and her relationship with the ml. I love their reactions with each other. I love that they solve all their misunderstandings and talk shit out instead of letting it fester and jumping to foolish conclusions without even investigating anything. I LOVE the plot! Also, it’s freckin hilarious. Her facial expressions kill me man lmaoo. FRICK MAN I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS, ITD TAKE A WHOLE FRECKIN ESSAY TO NAME ALL THAT I LOVE ABOUT IT (≧∀≦) GAAAHHHH I cant wait for the next season~ I’m so looking forward to it

What a nice laidback story~ I like these types. That seme tho, he’s such a gentleman and total husband material!! (Get me a man like him lmao). I could kinda understand the uke’s insecurities too, and see why he tried to run away like he did at first. I’m glad that they talked properly tho and sorted out each other’s feelings (usually doesn’t happen much in a lot of other manga, they just let the misunderstandings and such fester without even talking and considering the other person’s feelings). Overall, amazing story~ I think this’ll go on my favorites list (●´∀｀●)

Daaamnn fluffy and awesome manga~~ would totally read again ≧▽≦y the uke was cute, and the seme, ermergerrrr dat seme is the seme of semes! The brotha was patient, didn’t force himself on our cinnabun uke, stopped when he thought it’d be painful for uke, was honest and confessed his feelings instead of going through some long unnecessary drama (i mean, drama is interesting at times but it gets annoying sometimes ya know), and just overall treated our cinnabun with care (●´∀｀●) Theyre both so precious~ (‘∀’●)♡

What heartwarming and wholesome story~ I’m really happy for our mc, he truly deserves happiness, and I’m glad the one he ended up with loves him for who he is. I also appreciate that high school boy, and how his existence and actions saved our mc (Also appreciate that nothing romantic developed there, as it would just create unnecessary angst in the story). Overall, great story~ It had a satisfiying ending, but I wouldn’t mind a continuation (●´∀｀●)
Well then. That was... something.... here I was, hoping that somehow this would be one rare story where the mc escaped and DIDNT fall for his stalker. That’s the direction it was going after all, in some ways. But to think he’d just... give in... he became perpetrator himself, made the stalker fall for him and get even more obsessed, then they kinda just... and what a fragile relationship it is too, hardly a power struggle anymore. Now, it’s to the point where either of them can live without each other... I gotta say tho. This was an interesting premise for a story, and tho I might complain about things that happened in it or how things turned out, the fact remains that I couldn’t take my eyes off it and was fascinated to the end.
