Honestly, I feel like this guy can improve. He just seems like someone stuck in a toxic lifestyle that is trying to do better and has a crush.
If it turns out I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. But the way I'm seeing it, he doesn't know how to handle his feelings but he's making some effort.
I think the line "no matter how good a scent it is, it will be poisonous in such a small house" is absolutely wonderful. Whether it was intended or not, it can definitely reflect or even foreshadow their relationship down the road.
Also, I think he's reacting because he doesn't know how to act, necessarily. I'm not saying to forgive him for any wrongs, but he likely doesn't know much better.
I'm speaking as someone who also came from an abusive home, and sometimes you don't know how to react and only rely on what you've always known.
But definitely not excusing him hitting or anything, wrong is still wrong. But he said he's reflecting on himself (if translation on that was accurate), so hopefully there will be growth.

That translation was cirrect :). It is also reviled that he was a punchbag of his family and that whenever something would go wrong his family would take it out on him(chap 14). Also he is aware that what he did is wrong. Knows JiWook is scared of him(chap 15). Of course this doesn't excuse what he did in the first place but just helps to understand his character behaviour. And I know a lot of ppl are tired of there always being some sob story of abusive semes but I am really looking forward to see how this story will unfold ^-^
