Based on the spoilers I saw, the real princess is actually not possessed by the author of the novel, but by a reader who created a fanfiction of the novel
Originally, the author gave a happy ending for Philomel, but the reader hated Philomel so much that she created a fanfiction where Philomel gets rejected by the Emperor and executed. And that fanfiction is the novel that Philomel ended up reading.
