I usually love this author's works but for some reason I wasnt feeling this one. I didn't rlly like the seme all that much. He was kinda too frivolous and too forceful. I'm fine with dubious consent in yaoi(its so reoocurent that I had to get used to it) but seeing the seme just use the uke, not cause he particularly seemed to like him or anything, but like just cause he was the there and he was "cute", was uncomfortable. It felt so sudden and just weird and stiff. Idk, it's not up to par with her other works, especially when i know how good she is with characters and fluff.
I really like it when semes give blowjobs...and actually look like they're enjoying giving them. I don't think I see semes give bjs that often(mostly fingering instead) and when they do it's not as sexy as when the uke does it because u can kinda tell its sorta just an act, they dont seem to actually like having a dick in their mouth(to be vulgar abt it). But semes like this look like they actually like it and to me that's really sexy. Similar bj scenes would be Cherry Blossoms in Winter(sounds messed up but I liked that the uke came on his face after kinda making him choke). Tbh alot of the time authors pretend like the ukes dick doesn't exist ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I agree with this. In a lot of Yaoi the author treats the uke more like a woman than a man. Which can often toe the line of fetishization of gay men, and it weirds me out. Especially when the uke is hyper feminized and submissive. When you watch gay porn for example the men treat each other like men and the penis is more involved because they know that it brings a lot of pleasure as well as anal. Because for men, especially men just getting used to anal sex, anal isn’t some sort of magic thing that gives instant pleasure and will make them cum instantly. Authors sometimes treat it like that it feels the same as having vaginal sex when they’re very different. Usually those types of authors are straight women with no experience with male homosexual intercourse.
This is the first smut I wish wasn't smut. Cause if u cut out those random sex scenes(which kinda just seem to dumb this manga down and aren't the best I've seen by any means) it woulda been a cute childhood friend story. And it woulda progressed alot faster too. The guys hot, has good expressions, and has a pretty interesting job(when they aren't using it for smut purposes). The girl is cute, is confident(when he isn't smutting her up) and seems rational(her worry over her documents after the fire, her in the workspace). They look cute together too. I know this is for entertainment, but it seems almost like a waste. Like if they had just made the smut make sense, it woulda...made more sense. Idk.
I would recommend the artist and the beast. It has a cute storyline as of now maybe that will suit you taste more, and I also agree that the plot would be more interesting if there is more development on their relationship and not just the smut part.
It's surprisingly refreshing how seriously the seme(and even the uke in his reactions) is taking the sexual assault. Not to say it shouldn't be taken seriously, but that yaoi logic let's ukes be borderline--finna slip the tip in--raped( by outsiders, not semes) and still come out fine and dandy. I guess I got so used to them brushing off assault and it's consequences so this is new.
Im seeing a general census in the comments and i agree. I like reading dark shit, dark, horrifying shit is fine. Rape, murder, stalking? Ok. But dont don that shit in ribbons and paint it using rainbow colors. In other words, dont make hentai rape out to be smth deep and profound or god forbid, involve love. Its just...not. No. I enjoy dark "love stories", when the author isnt actually trying to portray it as a legit romance or actual love. A good example of dark done right would be stuff like killing stalking, in which case no matter how much readers may ship everyone knows, including the author themselves, that the story is very far from a romance or actual love. Its Stockholm syndrome, abuse, bad habits etc. But certaintly not real love and they never try to convince us of that fact, either.
Soooo...I want to read this but i rlly hate love triangles. If someone who's up to date could tell me of this has a love triangle that i should be worried abt, i'd rlly appreciate it
Yes there is. But it wasn't the focus of the story, though it did play a part in the feels, you know, friendship-love-betrayal thing, especially at the first chapters. I highly recommend though that you still read this. It's still mainly about Yona and her Dragons (the Happy Hungry Bunch), and their adventures. It's not just about drama or romance, there's some political aspect also. It really has nice plot, so give it a chance. ^^
This author really just screwed up a perfectly good, fresh story by devolving characters(mainly nike cause livius seems to be growing up quite well), rehashing cliches, and running the plot through a paper shredder while simutaneously tryning to tape together the left overs. Like bruh, i LOVED this story. It was new, it was interesting. It was cute af. And i get it, i rlly do. When u get this far into a manga u kinda run out of ideas. But nike getting kidnapped three times and never once learning her damn lesson abt making friends eith the locals while livius busts his ass and resources tryna save her is not a plot. Shouldnt they both be...i dont know...ruling a country?
The only reason i can think of for rehashing this trope is so that livius can kinda learn and grow. But livius can do both of these things just fine without Nike getting kidnapped THREE TIMES. What abt a wide spread disease with no origin? What abt new technology? What abt a war? So many plots they could have used. And if the author really wanted to seperate the main couple that badly, nike couldve legit went home. Or on a mission to help somebody. Or smth productive like that.
Instead nikes getting sexually harressed and livius is pulling tricks out of hat like a magician tryna get to this woman.
I think this story was a brilliant idea. The characters even more so. But the manga itself has honestly deteriorated, im srry to say. I'll be back to read the ending, i'll at least do that much. But im disapointed af, cause its a damn shame when a high quality manga cheapens itself over time.
Honestly where's the harem tag for this? Almost had me tricked bc the first book before this was so cute and heartwarming. Honestly there was no point in adding this many female leads it doesnt even fit the tone of the story.
