How I see the ending is that Bum die too. By rubbing Sangwoo's ashes on himself is like Koogi's saying Bum is following Sangwoo in death, and that's why he saw Sangwoo's "ghost" right after.
I really hate open ending and I'm a sucker for happy endings but I really like this ending. It's bittersweet. （/TДT)/

Sorry if you've already seen some of these but closest I can come around with is hxh, ao no exorcist, zatch bell (kind of older but still interesting for the manga), otherwise its a lil out there but if you like mysteries, I'd highly reccomend promised neverland, that's been very promising!

Have you tried Akatsuki no Yona? Even though it's tagged Shoujo, it feels more like a mix between shounen and shoujo. Its one of my favorites up there with Bnha :)
