I somewhat agree with you, but in this case, both Wendy and him know that the bitch of a sister and mother were always holding things against them. It may seem just a kiss, but the feeling of betrayal is real because he did kiss her and Wendy didn’t understand his intentions. That is clear. (I don’t remember much since it’s been a long time I have read it). I think his actions are great because at least Wendy won’t be willing to stay in that hell of a place. He did good in that category. However, I find it stupid that he chose to believe the words coming out of the stupid sister’s mouth and not yet hear it from Wendy.
