Most likely Hwaryun because Hwaryun is the male lead. Sahara is not the male lead. As an FYI, you can have a support character appear frequently throughout the plot. The difference between a male lead and support role is that the male lead drives the plot, whereas the latter supports the progression of the story.

Additionally, as far as things are going in the raws, I can confirm that things are heading towards the main event. The past 15-or-so chapters have just been supplementary to the real plot.
