it’s honestly quite sad to see jeannette simply want that humble family love and having to be used by others to manipulate her into thinking that she finally has a chance of obtaining it but in reality she’s actually being tricked to steal athy’s spot and can only start to feel jealous when she sorta realizes that athy is still apart of claude’s life and heart even when he doesn’t realize it.
the slap in the face from E was quite unexpected but understandable to jeannette. in my opinion he kinda did have to word it like that or else she wouldn’t have gotten it but it was still pretty harsh since she does respect athy and care for her and having heard that from someone that was probably the closest to jeannette seems unsettling for me. i’m pretty sure she didn’t have those type of feelings for E anyways and saw him like a brother bc of how oblivious she is.
