Can someone clarify why it's the MC's fault that the girl died?
I think it's the dragon's fault because he was arrogant and left everything to his greedy vassals. The dragon also don't know how to judge who are good followers vs bad.
I don't know why people are siding with the dragon when his views of everything were really twisted. The author is making it look like he is taking care of his people but he really isn't. He was also greedy and wanting absolute power. The whole caring for people around him is twisted because he is doing it for his own sake.
personally i believe the mc handled the situation at the arena very poorly
the mc could've gotten rid of the obvious threat that was making things complicated
and at the point of the opponent losing his will to fight
to the point of them both dying
im not expecting goku or a really smart mc because we get more story that way
but i have to scratch my head at this when he helps people throughout the series ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Ok. So how do you think could he have handled it better?
First, the lady was a pretty skilled martial artist. His poison needles will not work. He can't work together with the swordsman because he was looking down at him and didn't really know MC was stronger.
I would argue that it was the swordsman's fault. He was way closer to the girl and the woman and could have easily tried to do something. The MC probably would have helped him out as well by distracting the lady.
But then again, the swordsman complied and dueled the MC regardless confidently thinking he would be able to kill the MC.
I don't think he had any other options.
i don't believe the woman was that strong
he knocked her sonic rings out before anything popped off and that would've been the prime time to take her out before things got complicated (even if he had to kill the leader anyway, the MC was still blatantly stronger)
this was supposed to be part of a plan which went out of his control
a part of also knows the mc didn't care about the enemy
if he came for smoke there's no way you could've talked this out
the swordmaster didn't want the daughter harmed in any way but the mc didnt care so if she got burned a little or lost limbs would have been a better option than the result
did you forget that this is a mission
the mc wasn't messing around in enemy territory for fun or training
the mission only ends with dealing with unaccounted variables so there was no point to asking the mc for the favor anyway
the mc stopped the burning for no reason when she was pretty much dead and why does he care that the dragon take care of the subordinate if he didn't give a hoot about infighting
i don't get why you are defending him when he is an hypocrite and an asshole
I am defending the MC because you guys are unreasonable. I have no idea why you guys are super butthurt about that girl dying when she was introduced mainly as a tool for the dragon to fully become evil. They were just there for a couple of panels and clearly just a means for the evil lady to prompt everyone to kill the MC.
You guys want the MC to be omniscient and I don't agree with that. He isn't meant to be the super generic all righteous shounen character either.
I am giving up replying since everyone saying he is a hypocrite and an asshole clearly are reading too much into it that they making stuff up to form their opinion. You guys might as well just drop the series and make your own where the MC can predict everything and make reality bend to their own righteous will.
Why did they make it a point that there is literally no one else in the facility except for the two of them only for nothing to happen!!!
Maybe you should try reading some slow burns cause that’s how they work. Repeat flashbacks are all just mc’s monologue. We saw the ml talk for like what? One chapter? Yet we all can guess what kind of person ML was. Novels tend to add a lot of details to make them realistic. The webtoon is not leaving anything behind so if a slow burn burns a little too slow for you just let it marinate and come back later to read it.
They're following the novel exactly (which I'm more than happy about considering what just happened to December) -- and in fact this is actually moving faster than the novel, this story is very heavily based on their past and their background in swimming, so you're gonna have those repeated flashbacks, that's just how their relationship really started from that moment, so you might just have to let it marinate cause these chapters are setting up the foundation
He thought the uncles in kowloon city were nice but they were just using him and hiding the fact that they are cannibals and drug dealers. He thought they had a good life in that city that was ruined by the devil. It's really sad that he was made the fool after all this time.
