I hate it when I’m reading a historical manhwa and the author makes slaves or people in poverty the antagonists, portraying them as purely evil without any nuance. It also bugs me when the female lead buys one of her love interests and acts like she’s giving them a better life, but they’re still essentially a slave—just with slightly better working conditions. Honestly, in historical manhwas, I can’t stand how they glamorize royalty while dehumanizing the poor. The lower-class characters are either portrayed as saintly or completely evil, with no in-between. I absolutely love historical manhwas, but I’ll drop a story if slavery or poverty isn’t depicted with proper depth because it feels like the authors don’t truly grasp the severity of what slavery really is. Anyway, I hope this makes sense I'm just word vomiting
Mine are "Who Made Me A Princess", I feel like the plot is good but its kinda lacking, plus I hate Claude. Also "Secret Lady" I don't really have a reason why I don't like it, I just don't
Now that Solo Leveling has an adaptation, I've seen many people arguing over who Jinwoo should have ended up with. I mean, idrc who he ends up with but I'd love to hear ppls opinions on it.
For me it's Itusomi from A Sign of Affection, everyone hypes him up but when I read it he was just so boring. Don't get me wrong he's nice, but he's bland imo. Also, Sungyeon from Hosik's story; I LOOVE that manhwa but it felt like he was just there. He's super nice, but if you asked me what his personality is like, I couldn't tell you.
