i gotta tap out on this one. i thought i would get better but. how is naui the only one apologizing? muhyeok was literally harassing him and kept making him have sex until he wasn’t eating or sleeping. if he was mad he could have just left. but its naui’s fault for being angry that he was being used like a sex toy? nah. it may be fluffy after that but muhyeok has to realize he was in the wrong. kudos to yall tho and happy reading.

loving this story and caught up with the recent chapters just now. it may just be a mistranslation or missing context, but the whole “we must do these things whether we like it or not because we are strong and its our responsibility” thing is so awful. just because you were given amazing talent or abilities does not mean you must save the world. especially after everything MC has been through, it’s actually super selfish to think “well he has to because he’s strong!” i know MC will do whatever it takes even if he hates it, but that’s his own will and self-blaming. it doesn’t matter how important or strong he is, he should be allowed to live however the hell he wants WITHOUT the pressure from others.

That's the sad reality babe, everyone is selfish even to a smallest thing, and to make it worse this manhwa is about survival of the world, it's human nature. Sometimes everyone even said
"You are rich, please donate more"
"You are good at socializing, please talk to them"
"You have good endurance, please do more"
"You are good with weapon, please protect us"

damn this is actually really good. i love how MC is ACTUALLY tough and can fend for himself, and doesn’t just turn meek under the ML’s command. plus he can even square up with the ML!! like he had to grow up strong to survive and it shows. i just hope ML can stop comparing his past lover and MC, even if they do have the same soul. i want ML to love the MC for who he is currently :(

man my emotions are all over the place. when they have sweet moments its so cute and i feel like they should be together, but then other times i can really see that hwan young is truly suffering and scared, and that jaehyuk is ENJOYING the author’s suffering and it makes me so upset. i want hwan young to be happy, but he can’t be truly happy and free like this and it breaks my heart since i know all he wants is love and affection :(

why tf is this rated so high? looked interesting and had good ratings so i check the comments and wow it’s got tons of noncon like huh. i think i’m starting to learn ppl on here don’t have good taste, or they love horrible male love interests (but only in yaoi tho

the ml being the abuser is the point lmao. people don't just like noncon for no reason; here there's a compelling plot and complex characters that warrant morally dubious behavior, and that's why folks give it a high rating. nobody is denying the fact that the ml is a trigger-happy genocidal abuser, but we're here because we want to see where the author will proceed with a character like that and how the mc will avenge his mom.
i agree that there's a lot of unnecessary noncon in this genre, and I've dropped many bl's before due to it. but assuming any work that has it is automatically low-quality and anyone who reads it has bad taste... shows a lack of media literacy in your part. you didn't even read it to see

for what it’s worth i don’t mind if ppl enjoy this kind of thing. i know what i said was harsh, honestly i’m just tired of the noncon trope in every single bl and every one just letting it slide. but for those that openly like dark content for what it is and acknowledge that it’s fucked up, that’s fine. i’ve seen way too many stories that pretend abuse never happened and turn into a “cute romance”.
i guess also it’s frustrating that a i will enjoy a dark romance, but it seems like it always has to have tons of noncon to be dark. like it can be toxic without the SA, y’know?
anyways, i could yap about this for hours but the point is i agree with you and apologize for the sweeping generalization. my comment was out of frustration so don’t take it to heart. also thanks for the respectful response :)

i love that this was a rare role reversal of the typical rich toxic seme and naive pitiful uke dynamic that i am sick to death of, so refreshing. although the story itself and characterization has some irritating and confusing parts, i think they were made for each other and it was pretty cute in the end. though i’m also a huge fan of dominant ukes so make of that what you will lmao.
so I remember trying to read this before and being absolutely grossed out with how abusive the ML acted, so i dropped it. but that was a while back and now everyone seems to love it? did the ML have a godly redemption arc and is treating MC with respect now? i’m curious but i don’t wanna read through all the beginning just for mediocre apologies and barely any change. i don’t mind spoilers, can anyone explain how much it changes?
i went thru the same thing. i read it in its first season years ago but couldn’t get past 10 chaps!! But i gave it a try last week and its seriously really good. there are some scenes where it feels forced and those have warning but the main leads eventually establish an agreement / relationship.
from there, feelings start to evolve. but it’s not literally until chap 40s where Lee Nok (the prince) asks for Jaeshins name. It’s like slow burn in a way but VERY GOOD. i really like the plot it’s unique and i feel like no one in BL is doing joseon era + ghosts/demons/horror. And there are no holes in the story like every little plot line has been followed up on. I’m excited <3 to keep reading
ANYWAYS YES READ IT and then tell me if u like it. the art too.. omg
i just saw you asked how it changes… let me give some examples. the main notable thing
SPOILER ALERT*****
is that jaeshin truly starts to respect Lee nok as a human and not just a possession. Jaeshin also starts to care for humans more after the reality that lee nok will die. They start addressing each other by name (respect). Lee nok moves on from his childhood crush. It’s all very lovey dovey it’s just the beginning … I’d recommend just reading past the sex scenes if it makes you uncomfortable. The plot in the beginning is still important so i wouldn’t skip it entirely, but just the sex scenes. JaeSHIN is obviously using Lee nok to free the curse and yin energy. If you skip those sex scenes in the beginning you aren’t missing much.
Everyone just ignoring it cause they love toxicity
