I just read a comment that said what happened to shen yu that he never showed in story 2.
You can see it in eps 154.
They regret not being able to raise and educate their son for 10 years. And there's no mention of why they were gone for 10 years.
Maybe I think they had to separate from Qiyu because of the war or whatever so that Qiyu would be safe somewhere.
