After reading this I feel like their first child was of more lust than love, second one is out of hate and third one is out of genuine love. And did Wilhelm just masturbate to her childhood portrait in a chapter ? Or I am mistaken ? I would be surprised that he blindly lusted more than love over someone who gave him a piece of their mind out of disgust in previous timeline and a portrait was enough to convince him that they are like a god since he doesn’t know better. Only a little bit of kindness was enough to make him follow her for life. Anyways, I feel he is miserable and rein is just selfish. They are good fit for each other. But their kids don’t deserve to treated like that.
Man this is a gem. I must say that characters are beautiful drawn and depicted. Story is so up to the mark literally depicting those emotions and suspense that is required to keep readers hooked. I m glad that I took my time to read this wonderful thing. Btw I would not mind some spoilers if there is any.
Spoilers, read at your own risk.
In the next chapters Jean and his comrades are planning to start the revolution somewhere after an engagement ceremony, after the king's death. Ariel proposes to throw a masquerade party before that. Maxi visits this party incognito, hidding his face with a mask, but Jean recognises him. Max runs away, Jean runs after him, they argue, Jean cries, then they make peace, kiss and make love very passionately (Jean even promises to kill Palatine and Matt Grisham, being jealous). After this night Jean realizes that he loves prince no matter what and wants to save him. He asks prince to leave the palace to which the prince agrees after some discussion. They both go to Cornell's bar and Jean asks Cornell to help him to send prince away from the palace. Cornell accuse Jean of betrayal but nevertheless helps him. Prince leaves the palace in a carriage and takes his painting with him. After that Jean returns to the mansion and has the talk with Ariel where she asks him is he will return to Baden's estate after the work is done to which Jean refuses and says that he owes her his life and wealth but can't give her his heart or soul cause they aren't in his hands anymore. After that Ariel leaves to Baden's estate for revolutionary purposes and Jean goes to the palace. In the palace the king is dead and duke Robert is already here. To Jean's surprise prince is also here (prince sent Montespan, king's lover, instead of himself in a carriage). Jean finds out that Maximilian went blind because Robert poisoned him (his vision gradually faded away through the whole novel) and that's why he needed Palatine. Prince gives his final speech where he says that he is the past and Jean and others are the future, "that's how we hold hands!" he says (before leaving prince asked Jean to never let go of his hand). After that he is killing himself with Jean's gun or is killed by one of of Jean's comrade or both (I'm not so sure of this part...). After that nothing around him matters for Jean anymore, he runs to the body of his beloved, cries and ebraces it... After that Cornell appears and makes confession that he was the prince's servant all the way, so the prince knew about all their plans all along. Maxi thought that it was his duty to step aside for the new future and help to shed minimal blood. And in the last chapter Jean visits Montespan. She shows him the painting that the prince asked her to burn but she decided not to. It's a painting of a tiger and jewels, mostly pearls around him (if you remember Little Pearl compared Jean to a tiger holding a pearl in the first letter). The painting is signed "My Little Pearl. My Jean". Jean cries in front of the picture. The end. The is also a side story that was in CD drama. As far as I understand author planinng to include it in manhwa too. It takes place some years after the events. Maximilian as a ghost visits Jean in his dream and they talk about their love, the past etc... Sorry for my English btw I'm not a native speaker.
Thank you bruh. For the explanation. I can now sleep in peace. It is 3.30 in the morning.
I am kinda expecting this would be a tragedy. Just not that I will be witnessing how beautiful the ending will be. I know that this will be the course since Maxi is the type of guy who is determined to his principle. He has that type of aura. I like it. True to his words. He knows what he wants and he loves the people. He will sacrifice his self of course. I just love how Jean didn't succumbed to his selfishness that he gave Maxi enough time and moment to be loved. I just love that idea. They might not be together but it was worth it.
Someone please give me some spoilers if there is any available. So, that I don’t have to read this shit ever again. I thought the plot will be interesting but it keeps disappointing me and now that I am done expecting anything better out of it. Please drop me some spoilers how it will end or how it will keep going.
