Am I the only one who still can't forgive Rogi for the horrible rape he committed? Before people jump on me and tell me to leave if I can't stand rape in yaoi manga, let me clarify a few things. My criticism isn't against rape as a theme in yaoi manga, since I've read a lot of yaoi and have learned to simply overlook it "for the plot." This doesn't mean I condone rape obviously, and I still feel a bit squeamish when there's rape involved, but it's just that I've grown to accept it as a "natural part" of yaoi. Most of the time, I can get through a manga involving rape just fine since it's so common. However, with Rogi it's different. He raped Tatsuyuki for no fucking good reason, and even though Tatsuyuki had found love and was happy. When everything was perfect, Rogi came and fucked it all up. His rape was cruel and with no love. Sorry, but in my opinion he is a giant piece of shit and there are not many characters I hate as much as I hate him. (╬￣皿￣)凸

People kind of forget that it was a deal between them, Rogi did it to provoke Tatsuyuki's father and Tatsuyuki was trying to protect Nozomi or at least at first but he the he then realized what were Rogi's true intention. Rogi had said at some point that the fourth arrived at Fukuoka just like he planned but him meeting Nozomi wasn't, so whether Tatsuyuki finds love or not wouldn't have mattered because something along the lines would have happened anyway just so Rogi could meet his father. I think Rogi knew that what he did was wrong and he was pretty much ready to die. If the plan worked and Akitora did come to kill him, then he would have gotten his wish for Akitora to be his last memory, however the plan failed. And even then, he was ready to die but Tatsuyuki pitied him and decided to forgive him and make him an underling so that he could get his wish to meet Akitora. To me, Rogi doesn't seem to have that eerie/sadistic aura like before, he just seems miserable after those events. This story just makes me want to see what made him so obsessed with Akitora.
No, I do get that but it still doesn't negate what he did and yes I also want to see this story as to how this all began. But I still stand behind my previous comment.

God knows I have read too many yaois especially since yaoi mangakas seem to like doing the 'twisted/fucked up/raped' theme (to the point it's really becoming a trend now JUST WHY). Like you, I became neutral about it but oh man particularly for Rogi, I couldn't forgive him. Honestly his raped was really plain cruel as you've stated. Sure this manga will help me to understand the way he is, but I honestly don't think I can sympathize with him. Idk man if his daughter is so damn precious to him, he would have thought twice about doing all this nasty stuff especially in front of her.

I'm Hispanic, too. I was born and raised in Mexico, and moved to the USA just two years ago. However, the names just get on my nerves. I wish they would've stuck with different names.
