I know this is supposed to be that scene where this one character who influenced the protag is supposed to die for the plot, but tbh I feel like the author chose him as the one to die after much thinking. His death was not just for the plot, i believe he was targeted not just for the protag but because he was a strong, brave, and caring man, I’ll never forget him.

ok was i the only one that thought Richard looked pretty nice, like a good person at first? Honestly I feel like his confidence and cruelness comes from his insecurity's. Imagine talking to someone you thought liked you and they suddenly say your delusional, I would feel heart broken. Remember although his was the supposed overconfident, cruel, protag, he is still the son of a slave, meaning he probably isn't used to being liked/loved.
