Another reason I dislike romances between maids and nobles is because of the power difference. After reading the spoilers it’s clear that the ml takes advantage of his power as a noble and abuses mc. The idea that it’s romantic how he chased after mc is absolutely disgusting. When there is a power difference in couples it makes one unable to makes their own choice such as leaving the relationship when they want bc they have no money or power to care for and protect themselves. This story is absolutely disgusting. I’m so mad bc the art is so amazingly beautiful but the story itself makes me want to barf.
This def the type of story that a person would transmigrate into the villainess, like she’s not a good person but both the father nd the brother are the worst of the worst. The brother criticizes her attitude but clearly he showed absolutely no interest in his own sister her whole life despite seeing that her father verbally abused her. The villainess’s own abusive and bipolar behavior clearly comes from her father and brother.
On a side note I’ve always disliked historical romances with maids bc the main problem they face will always be the hierarchy system. so there are always predictable plots and the mc always takes the abuse as she literally has no other choice. For all these reasons I am dropping this book, I cannot comprehend how anyone finds these cliche plots enjoyable.
Ok so to make things easily said, LEGALLY they are siblings. some readers may have the idea that they already completely view each other as siblings because berry already calls her ‘sister’, but it’s quite common to call older or respected female friends unnie aka sister in Korea, so this doesn’t really make them sisters in itself. They literally just met and they are older so they could view each other as siblings eventually or just stay good friends who are legally tied. My thoughts are, it wouldnt be incest let alone immoral if Fl left the family, I personally don’t imagine this as an gl but u could see how it has an ok plot line for a gl. The argument the other person made for incest was that even if they hadn’t viewed each other as sisters, they still are legally sister, so yes it would be a strange gl if the Fl stayed in the family and fell in love with her sister. All in all, the person so mad about the technical aspect about the incest stuff is probably also someone who gets disgusted when an 18 and 17 year old date, legally it sounds like pedophilia but in actuality there’s only a year difference. Same as in actuality these girls don’t event know each other.
Honestly I get both points. I understand the appeal of the gl route and if the mage hadn't appeared I'd probably ship them too. But I also get the whole incest shebang. You see this comic aside, we do kinda have a problem with "adopted/step-brother male lead" in rofan. And most of them, unlike the gl route in this one, are between people that should have seen each other as siblings. Say like if one of the 3 arseholes ended up as male lead cuz they "never seen the other as sibling". That and the they are not blood related are the main reasonings for it to be acceptable in the comments. Remembering I'm not really talking about this one but just exemplifying.
Personally the whole fauxcest genre is not my cup of tea so I tend to avoid it. For those who feel uncomfortable with it the legality is just another reason. Also, while I said I'd probably ship them... I'm also happy to see a nice sisterly relation instead of the real daughter being a 2faced bee for a change... xD
Y’all, first off no romantic connections have been formed at all yet, both seniors clearly want only see her as a friend now. And secondly, mc has gone back in time so mentally she is an adult. The school setting is what created a bridge for them to meet so later on in the story when she’s physically an adult again it won’t be strange for them to help her meet her goals. Also a 6 year age gap really isn’t that deep, the only thing weird about seniors liking freshman is the mental gap which clearly isn’t the case here.
