i think deku needs a wake up call. hes starting to fill himself with hatred.. i feel like his forget what his goal was, to protect people. Nagant became a villain because she believed that hero society was full of hypocrites and was corrupt under its sunny exterior. In this scene, Nagant realizes that although she just shot Deku in the arm, Deku uses that same arm to save her (a villain) from falling. She also noted that Deku didn't hesitate at all to save Chisaki (also a villain). I think Nagant starts to smile because she knows that Deku is not one of those fake heroes that she first believed him to be. I feel like deep down Nagant secretly wanted to be proven wrong about hero society and to be shown that there are still true heroes. That's my take anyway.
