But, i think the reason why they weren't able to break the cycle is because Touma always killing them before they could be together with Hayato's reborns. And I also think is maybe Kaito's past lives before were all cowards like Hayato, so they weren't able to save the other Yuuma's past lives, but Kaito isn't a coward like Hayato
