it makes me cackle so heartily more than any dramatic angry shouting or cliche crying between the leads. the sudden detachment/disconnect from the one who Cared in a one sided relationship is so, so delicious no matter how many times i see it. like go girly, indulge in some stone cold apathy and let the trauma speak for itself for once
additionally i love the four stages of grief making their appearance not in just the death of a being but a death of the relationship.
Bjorn is transitioning between Denial (that it can still be fixed), and Anger that it isn't. homeboy i can't fucking wait till you get to the Bargaining and Depression

honestly given that the fake saintess has her claws firmly gripped around this dude and is essentially keeping him dependent via addiction, it's great that he can take a step back- despite ciel keeping so many key facts from him- and still think critically about seowhatshername.
i wish the FL would utilize the same level of critical thinking towards seosomeone :') like... be fr girl. just because she's not threatening you, you want to divulge the only information that gives you an advantage?

-he understands he has been separated from the ones he considers family /he doesn't understand WHY
-he probably smelled Miria's scent in the room and understood that she had been there / he doesn't understand why she went away
-he understands she's beyond that glass /he doesn't understand why he can't go past the glass and tries his best to press against it
-he understands the name to use to call to her / he doesn't understand why she's not coming to pick him up like usual and take him with her, why he's been left behind
mori is so smart and intuitive and i hate to think what he will take away and remember from this traumatizing experience

there's some interesting discussion on ksites where it was debated if humans are considered livestock in this new earth (we're still a lil wary of Promised Neverland), but someone said it seems to be closer to a protected indigenous group
similar to how colonizers will come into an already occupied settlement & proceed to claim it + gentrify everything while pushing the original inhabitants to a small corner of the land.
after settling in, give or take a few decades/centuries of mingling with humans, they will then attempt to "protect" the race they brought to extinction out of guilt, by applying their own beliefs to a vastly different culture and ecosystem, occasionally making things worse instead of better in a misguided attempt to 'save' them.
we can clearly see that the other aliens have a clinical & textbook understanding of human care. while their motives aren't malicious or evil, it still falls short because they're treating Mori like a subject, convinced of their superiority.
meanwhile Miria and the others in her household (while also stumbling at the beginning because all they had were reference books) quickly learned how to truly care for a child because they approached Mori on an equal standing and listened to him.
why am i typing so much? BECAUSE I WILL CRY IF I DON'T DISTRACT MYSELF LET MY BABY GO LET HIM GO HE'S TALKING OH MY GOD HIS FIRST WORD IS BORNE OUT OF FEAR AND LONGING I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE
guess who's back (back, back) back again
