    I like how you voice your thoughts. Not everyone is brave enough to do it here, especially in a public site like this one. Just go for it.     drop hints, heavy hints.
    don't come on too strong, but be there if they need you. if you're the same gender as your friend, make sure that they are part of the lgbtq+ community or okay with it.

    but don't force it. if they don't like you, they don't like you and only want you as a friend; and that's okay.

    I think before confessing, you should try to send them some hints to have an idea if they would reject you or not. Like, for example, if you have the same gender, try asking them what do they think about same gender relationships. Try to be more tactile with them (like hugs for example) and see how they reacts. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
