The Tyrant Husband Has Changed
It was fine, I really just sped through chapters 73 to 84 because it was quite predictable and not very interesting. It was a nice little distraction from my lack of reading material rn. Not amazing but not terrible. I agree with other comments about FL's reactions and expressions not seeming real.
Birth of a Goddess
Welp imma pretend season 2 doesn't exist.
So it was good enough, but it wasn't great, I was kinda expecting some revenge from an actually OP FL, but she never even punished her stepmother or taught her father a lesson. The purity chapter could have been skipped altogether, that just annoyed me and technically she'd still be considered unpure for spending the night with a man so technically she'd still be punished but whatever.
The romance felt like it sprung from nowhere, the fighting together thing was cute but I'd honestly rather see them wrestle and her sneak attack him with something inappropriate and win lmao.
The animals were cute but the cat was setup so far in advance that it felt redundant and I'm sad we never saw the frost wolves again. The snake was genuinely a glorified accessory until the very end and really I don't think he was ever even needed. Which makes me sad because I really liked him a lot and he's worth much more than this.
The constant studying of medicine only to use little spirit every time she needs to practice medicine and then spot out some special potion from nowhere... She never used her own brain. And I'd have liked to see her treat anyone else besides just the ML. Yeah the acupuncture thing was self taught but that was really just to get them together, let's not pretend she's ever using it again or even teaching it to someone for future benefits.
I really hated the end, Little Spirit vanishing and the ML uniting the world and her uniting the beasts and them ruuuling over everyone.... Yada Yada nah skip, I would rather see some sweet romantic scenes than that and the western wedding was a pass too, I like seeing the traditional ones because to me it's novel but whatever.
I read this in one go, if I'd stopped I'd have dropped it. Also she's not really as OP as I thought she'd be. She can't beat the ML till the very end, that's already annoying. Her powerups are limited to short times pans till she becomes a goddess and the story ends. She would have died if ML hadn't saved her after the mind control chick stabbed her with the convenient beam of light. She'd have died at the start if ML hadn't saved her from the waterfall and then from the wolves. Honestly the story really wants you to know she isn't as strong as him and she needs him. And yeah she saved him once, but I'm pretty sure if he hadn't diverted to save her... He wouldn't have been at death's door... Woulda just speed sprinted to shaman Mo and been fine...
I'm complaining a lot, I'm sorry. They're not big things and obviously I still read it. I just expected so much more so I feel sad. At least I was spared the cliche babies scene. Maybe not, maybe it's in season 2 somewhere lmao, who knows.
Oh and the bloody sacrifice myself for the world thing... Yoh nah, I like the selfish characters way more than the righteous ones honestly. To me none of the characters felt like real people at all. But ey, I read lots of stories without real people and it's fine, I just feed off the fluffy scenes to quell my feelings lmao
The Lady's Butler
It was really good, I didn't realize it was complete. Exactly the level of fluff and depth I needed.
Please Cry, Crown Prince
There's so much politics with very little reason to actually care about the politics until you find out much later that they have very real consequences that you had no way of seeing because the MC is retarded. The ML is fine and all, there's nothing wrong with the typical cold boy who's starved for affection, but I honestly don't feel the chemistry between them. To me it looks like siblings who hate eachother but like eachother. That's not romantic at all. I'm not an idiot but I can't guess at the actual plot under the surface and it's annoying. I've read this twice and both times I'm sick of it by chapter 28. They keep throwing spirits around, I'll assume the girl's mother was a spirit or something and she resembles the Duke's sister who was the queen that got murdered. I'll also guess this queen or empress was probably going against the Replica cult or somehow wrapped up in them... The current religion is suspicious since the church has a bad reputation with the emperor but somehow their priestess is his right hand woman. Also all the characters constantly telling the MC to stay out of it feels very much like the big kids telling the little kids they can't play with instead of just teaching them the game. The comments are all so positive but I'm really sick of it. Also the bird... It's really obviously a spirit and she's getting along well with it but why isn't there more to it rn? There's literally nothing interesting happening rn! I'd rather ship her with the bloody second prince as sketchy as he is for siding with the emperor. Also this mess of who killed who from both boys' perspective where they both seem to agree the empress is innocent but somehow the ML didn't say that in the brother's memory so now I think he was mind controlled during that somehow because lordy. Yeah I dunno, the story is too vague and annoying and I don't have the patience to sit and wait to find it all out in chapter 80 or something.
I want to do it, even if it hurts
