Her eyes annoy the hell out of me and honestly I just couldn't get into this book. The plot is so simple and predictable and cliche and the characters are so flat

I'm giving it a 4 but it's more like a 3.5.
The genre is honestly a mess, is it a slice of life vibe or thriller, because it's trying to tread the line and ends up being a poor version of both. Weakest thriller ever and too much semi scary stuff for a slice of life.
The main couple had zero chemistry and suddenly sped full steam ahead into a relationship. They cut most of the interesting interactions to make them cliffhangers but instead of fueling my interest it built up a scene then had it fall flat only to continue it during another chapter where the mood is ruined! It's so poorly executed that the shit translation isn't even the worst part. Which btw the translation is very shit. I'm not an idiot but I can't follow the name swaps and relationships. For example without going back to double check, I can't tell who Liana is married to. Because I thought she married the prince's aid but then I find out she raised the prince and his aid? I think his name is Kabe? Is Kabe the aid or her husband?? I don't know! At one point I thought it was her husband and he called her sister! I've also noticed how many authors don't know Noble hierarchy very well or translators rather so now I never trust the noble titles to be accurate but in this story they explain the titles and say the dukes are all blood relatives of the royal family. So how can the prince's sister marry a high nobility when he's a blood relative? It's all a mess. Also I'm sick of Elaine. Don't make someone out to be a villain then turn them into a puppy, I'm constantly tense wondering when she's going to turn out crazy. And that 2nd prince' s mother, I don't remember if she's empress or concubine or what but she's a classic example of a flat villain. There's no reason for her stepping on that man's hand, her character is entirely boring and basic evil woman.
Also it makes no sense for the crown prince to be low born. Concubines usually only come from nobility!
I read up to chapter 20 because I had nothing better to do but I find it really frustrating.

I've been slogging through the last 10 chapters trying to drum up interest in reading but I'm so bored of this. Even the sun and moon theme got swept aside for girl boss chapters and I just find it boring. Also the amount of corset slander just dropped 2 stars off the rating for me because how can you claim to be in fashion and still not know how functional and comfortable corsets are, they're less painful than bras, it's ridiculous.

It's good, a little slow but I couldn't put it down
