Apparently the author confirmed on Twitter she’s going to make the side story until it’s own thing and I’m. Tossing my fingers it does happen because I want to see them together

I think it's going to be one of both:
1. It's gonna be Ian & TJ and Jo realises this isn't his love story
2. It's gonna be Ian & TJ through the mafia war, TJ dies, Ian is getting revenge with Jo's help, and Ian leaves the city for a new beginning

Personally I like the first option more simply because I like Tj and Ian's chemistry/history. It's too often that we see the Mc get together with a new guy instead of resolving and fixing their first love relationship.
