I like how in this case the man is tied even though it’s because of his big bro it’s nice for once that the males are being careful and not just the women. This how it should work in our society too honestly so both are taking preventative measures to avoid accidental pregnancies. It’s very refreshing, as a person with a degree in public health I approve
Absolutely, there are male contraceptives on the market, there is even a surgery that is called a vasectomy in which a man can get his tubes tied (and if he regrets it he can get a vasectomy reversal).
However, these methods are not as popular due to the fact that most legislation and hospital/pharmaceutical companies prefer to maintain their position in supporting abstinence (which time and time again has been proven to be ineffective) and making the woman bear the brunt of the responsibility.
Another reason male contraceptives are not popular is because some men in the pharmaceutical trials reported to have side effects when taking the contraceptives such as tiredness, reduced libido, mild headaches, acne, and weight gain (5 pounds or less).
In contrast women’s contraceptives have these and much more severe side effects such as Hyper coagulation, migraines, nausea/vomiting, vaginal irritation/dryness, stroke symptoms/stroke ( I personally experienced this) and extreme weight gain.
And if a woman does get pregnant, the side effects of that include nausea, vomiting, swelling, varicose veins, backaches, hemorrhoids, heartburn, fatigue, constipation, sleep loss, loss of hair, loss of teeth, osteoporosis, and finally death. Sooooooo, sorry I went off on a Public Health tangent but ya point is male contraceptives exist and have less side effects and are safer than most women’s contraceptives, Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Thanks cheshire !!
There is also a strong cultural bias against masculine contraception - manliness seems challenged in some archaic thinking - breeding is a power (or something - yay same humans who see themselves superior to animals !) it’s also a duty for some (go figure)
Vasectomy is probably still forbidden in many country, it’s only been legal for a little over a decade in france - i really admire guys who are not scared to make that choice : they are not ridiculously affraid to become « female « without fully working balls
Btw : female have one half chromosome more per cell, that makes a lot of dna : no man on earth has the slightest chance to ever become « female « !
Soft contraception for male also exist in the form of warm panties : when the balls stay too warm for a long time spermatozoa don’t form or are ineffective (i don’t remember which) it’s still is a trial product with good results for people with a strong discipline
And you are right feminine chemical contraception is super dangerous
