There's a mystery since FL's job is to find out who tried to hurt ML for ML's brother. In the beginning I couldn't tell if ML's brother was bad or not but later on you'll find out he is the real villain of the story.

He needed FL's clothes for it so she gave the actress her clothes and ML almost fell for it cause he notices FL's smell but then right after he hugged her, he realized she's not FL and tried to kill her. FL stepped in to stop him. He just clings to FL and FL told them to leave the room. They ended up sleeping together. She was still cold to him but he slowly told her about his real self.

His brother actually wasn't killed because he didn't want to send him to meet his mother in death so he just left his brother alive. His brother then threatened that FL would end up dead because of him. ML rushed back to FL and the kid was trying to protect FL, saying he has to protect his younger brother. FL said she has to protect him as his teacher. FL thought she miscarried but the fetus end up surviving.
Because of the explosion from the event, the public found out the narcotic dealings from the pharmaceutical company. By that time, ML already got all the family companies inherited to him as he got his brother's fingerprint. He took over the company and removed most of the dirty businesses except keeping a few such as gambling and auctions.
FL only forgave ML after he found out the answer to her question and promised to be the singing tree for her and he lived his day playing the cello by the singing spruce at their home for her. FL finds out that the house they were living in was ML's home from when he young too and their house became famous because of his playing so people come to visit to hear him play. It took ML a some time to convince FL to marry him. Also took some time for him to convince his "mother-in-law" to marry fl.
One rainy night FL freaked out seeing someone holding a shovel wearing a black raincoat outside in their garden and realized ML was shoveling up the grave of "her husband". She got upset and asked what he's trying to do. He was embarrassed living there when there's a grave of him there. Also he's prone to being jealous of himself so he was jealous of "her husband". She decides to name their son Namu (남우) meaning impersonator, but he thought she was naming it after her first love 나무 (namu) for tree. She told him it's for impersonator because people like impersonating. Basically she named their son after him because he likes to act. She called him out for knowing she's pregnant and pretending not to.
The genius kid was also a repeating occurrence in the novel who would give advice and warnings to both FL and ML. (He's my favorite character.) He knew their baby is a son from the scent and was excited to have a younger brother. Later on it was said they were very close brothers and the older brother gifted his younger brother a huge Insect Observatory as a gift. Their son also took FL's last name because ML doesn't want him under his hateful family name. FL also questioned him one time if he's bored of his mundane life since throughout the novel there are metaphors comparing ML to a beast and she kept making him live as a flower/ a plant. In the end he was living as a house husband as he did when he was "her husband" and she thought he would get bored of it. She doesn't know he now owns the Kwon companies so he continues to act tame.

Once he finally gets the information he needed from Lee Yeon about her role in his mother’s death (miscommunication) he finally decides to break up w her in the cruelest way possible and leaves her.

Chaewoo finds out and he’s off with BeomHee, Heejoon and more Kwon guards to find and save Lee Yeon. Lee Yeon was being held down forcefully and she begins to bleed. She cries out for her baby and a sudden explosion is heard as men start to shoot the place. Chaewoo comes in and holds an inconsolable Lee Yeon and takes her to a hospital immediately as she prays for her baby’s safety. Everything turns out fine tho, the baby is healthy and Lee Yeon is fine. Days go by and the secret drug plants are all over the news as well as a warrant on Kwon KiSeok who had gone missing. They believe he had fled the country (he’s dead inside a basement lol). They declare Chaewoo as the new CEO of the Kwon business. Chaewoo goes back to live in Hwaido with Lee Yeon now that Kiseok is out of the picture. Six months pass and they are expecting a baby girl (not a boy). Chaewoo plans a baby shower for her and Gyubaek writes a book for his little sister (they don’t actually adopt him but Lee Yeon treats him like a son, and has even mentioned how excited she is for him to be a big brother). She wants to name their daughter Namwoo (tree in Korean is Namu, she’s basically naming her daughter tree). Chaewoo hates trees and deems them his rivals lol. Kwon Heejoon is excited to be an uncle but Chaewoo is very hesitant to have him around and refuses to show him pictures of ultrasounds, so Heejoon hacks his way into finding his nieces pictures lol. We don’t actually get to meet baby Namwoo tho, the story ends with Lee Yeon being six months pregnant.

By that time, ML already got all the family companies inherited to him as he got his brother's fingerprint. He took over the company and removed most of the dirty businesses except keeping a few such as gambling and auctions.
FL only forgave ML after he found out the answer to her question and promised to be the singing tree for her and he lived his day playing the cello by the singing spruce at their home for her. FL finds out that the house they were living in was ML's home from when he young too and their house became famous because of his playing so people come to visit to hear him play. It took ML a some time to convince FL to marry him. Also took some time for him to convince his "mother-in-law" to marry fl.
One rainy night FL freaked out seeing someone holding a shovel wearing a black raincoat outside in their garden and realized ML was shoveling up the grave of "her husband". She got upset and asked what he's trying to do. He was embarrassed living there when there's a grave of him there. Also he's prone to being jealous of himself so he was jealous of "her husband". She decides to name their son Namu (남우) meaning impersonator, but he thought she was naming it after her first love 나무 (namu) for tree. She told him it's for impersonator because people like impersonating. Basically she named their son after him because he likes to act. She called him out for knowing she's pregnant and pretending not to.
The genius kid was also a repeating occurrence in the novel who would give advice and warnings to both FL and ML. (He's my favorite character.) He knew their baby is a son from the scent and was excited to have a younger brother. Later on it was said they were very close brothers and the older brother gifted his younger brother a huge Insect Observatory as a gift. Their son also took FL's last name because ML doesn't want him under his hateful family name. FL also questioned him one time if he's bored of his mundane life since throughout the novel there are metaphors comparing ML to a beast and she kept making him live as a flower/ a plant. In the end he was living as a house husband as he did when he was "her husband" and she thought he would get bored of it. She doesn't know he now owns the Kwon companies so he continues to act tame.

I agree with this spoiler. It’s pretty spot on but just correcting and adding a few things to avoid any confusion.
Paragraph 1:
Lee Yeon’s bio dad had an affair with his wife’s sister. Lee Yeon’s Bio mom gave her sister full custody of Lee Yeon after being born so she was raised and abused by her aunt and half older siblings for being “tainted blood”.
At 17 she was kicked out and that’s when she met Chooja, the director, who took her in and took care of her.
Paragraph 8:
Chaewoo accompanied Lee Yeon to another tournament. There was a sudden landslide and Chaewoo quickly gets Lee Yeon to safety before getting swept by the landslide and is knocked unconscious by the force. Lee Yeon finds him after everything calms down. He regains consciousness and is in high alert and is hostile towards her. Lee Yeon notices he is back to his normal self and begs for her “husband” to come back. Chaewoo gets a sudden headache and passed out. He regains consciousness once again at the hospital as his “husband” version and they have non stop hospital sex lol.
Paragraph 9:
After the Sacred tree arc happens and the interaction w a shaman, Chaewoo falls into a deep sleep. He sleeps for a month and dreams of his past. He wakes up as his real self and heads to Beomhee’s house. There he demands a full rundown of the past 2 years.
He is disgusted by Lee Yeon and her lies but decides to continue his husband act as he gathers more information regarding Lee Yeon’s relationship with his older brother and her role in his mother’s death.
Once he finally gets the information he needed from Lee Yeon about her role in his mother’s death (miscommunication) he finally decides to break up w her in the cruelest way possible and leaves her.
Paragraph 10:
His mother wasn’t actually his mother but was Kwon Kiseok’s music teacher. She kidnapped Chaewoo when he was only 3 years old as revenge, she couldn’t bring herself to hurt the child since she had grown maternally attached to him. She raised him w love and taught him how to play the cello in Austria where he became famous for his cello playing. They fled to Hwaido island after being found out in Austria. The mother kept him at home in fear he’d be taken so to pass time he’d play the cello for a pretty girl down the hill sitting under a tree. Lee Yeon left notes behind bcs she wanted to meet the person who played for her but never got a response. Chaewoo would sneak out whenever she wasn’t there to take the notes and later hid a classical cd under the tree that contained all the songs he’d play for her. Unfortunately they were found out once again and were being chased. Chaewoo, wanting to save his mother, tells her to head down the hill where the pretty girl lives and ask for her help. She does as told and heads down the hill as Chaewoo is taken back to the Kwon residence. Lee Yeon takes care of the woman for a month. The woman had grown depressed and demands Lee Yeon call the phone number in a missing persons poster to turn her in. Lee Yeon is hesitant but the woman reassures her and tells her she just wants to see her son again.
Lee Yeon turns her in but refuses the cash reward. Kiseok wires the money into Lee Yeon’s account anyways. Lee Yeon believes it was the woman who has given her the money.
Kiseok tells Chaewoo that his mother has died in a car accident. He gets depressed and gives up the cello. He joins the Kwon family business and grows addicted to violence. Years later again he finds out the truth behind his mother’s death and threatens to kill Kiseok (Kiseok held her captive and starved her to death). Kiseok shifts the blame to Lee Yeon and tells Chaewoo she had sold his mother back to him for the cash reward. Chaewoo is sent to Hwaido island to find Lee Yeon.
Paragraph 12:
Two weeks after the break up Lee Yeon finds out she is pregnant. She decides to move on from Chaewoo. Gyubaek was accidentally kidnapped and Lee Yeon calls Kiseok to return him safely. Kiseok’s wants something in return and negotiates w her. They come to an agreement and Lee Yeon is to serve as a private tree doctor and gardener for a month at the Kwon residence. This is where she is reunited with Chaewoo. Chaewoo has conflicting feelings towards Lee Yeon and grows more and more desperate for her. He finds out she’s pregnant but decides to keep it to himself as he continues to try to win her trust back.
Kiseok touches Lee Yeon’s belly as a threat forcing Lee Yeon to agree to be his date to an event. The event doesn’t happen until later in the story.
Paragraph 14:
Chaewoo teams up with his second eldest brother Kwon HeeJoon (not his cousin).
Kiseok was a host for a charity event that held many important people. Chaewoo and HeeJoon agreed to shoot one of the elites to frame Kiseok and were successful with the shooting but Kiseok is quick and starts shooting his own staff to make himself seem like a victim too. Chaewoo is shot at and is hurt.
The last half of the paragraph with Lee Yeon being in danger and her miscarriage scare doesn’t happen until the very end, not during the charity event. So I will continue this by correcting and adding things chronologically.
Days go by and Lee Yeon grows more hesitant towards Chaewoo after the shooting and is more concerned about her and her baby’s future.
It’s finally the day of the event Kiseok had forced Lee Yeon to go to. She is dressed in white and is stood next to him as his date. In this event they are introduced to the new drug called “summer” that works like LSD that was being manufactured in secret by a Pharmaceutical Company owned by Kiseok. Everyone is given a drink laced with it and everyone starts tripping out. Chaewoo comes in with crutches and sees Lee Yeon next to Kiseok, he angrily takes a drink laced with “summer” unknowingly. He goes into a bad trip and starts talking to hallucinations of his mother and of Lee Yeon. Lee Yeon takes the drugged up chaewoo to a hotel and witnesses him cry out to a hallucination of her as he voices his regrets about the way he had treated her.
After that day, she had avoided Chaewoo as she continues to be emotionally conflicted. Chaewoo respects her space and is confronted by Lee Yeon. She declares that she doesn’t plan on giving him a second chance unless he found a solution to the sacred tree he had killed prior to their break up weeks ago. She purposely gave him an impossible task bcs she had already decided to live hidden with her child as she deemed the Kwons dangerous. She leaves him to ponder.
Days go by and she is met with Kiseok. Kiseok’s takes her to Chaewoo’s childhood room where he confessed his sick love obsession with music teacher and his jealousy towards Chaewoo. He lets Lee Yeon know how she really died and points to the floor under Chaewoo’s bed, under Chaewoo’s room was a basement. He had locked her inside and told her he’d feed her each time Chaewoo played the cello. This was around the time Chaewoo had grown depressed and gave up the cello so she starved to death. Lee Yeon is disgusted by Kiseok and is angry. Kiseok wants Chaewoo to live a miserable life. Chaewoo had bugged Lee Yeon’s clothes in secret so he heard the whole conversation (he was respecting her space not her privacy lol).
On Lee Yeon’s last day at the Kwon residence, Chaewoo finally comes up with a solution and walks up to Lee Yeon wearing a suit and is seen carrying a cello. He plays the cello passionately for the first time since his mother’s death and begins to cry as he hugs the instrument. He vows to play the cello in place of the sacred tree forever. Lee Yeon sighs in defeat and accepts him back in her life and they have a heart to heart in private where he finally admits he knows about the pregnancy.
Lee Yeon is getting ready to leave with Gyubaek and says her final goodbyes to Chaewoo. Chaewoo decides to stay behind until he inherits the Kwon business because without it he can’t promise Lee Yeon’s and his unborn’s baby safety. So he drugs up Kiseok with “summer” and tortures him in the same basement he starved his mother in. Chaewoo decides to leave him in there the same way he did his mother and never returns.
Lee Yeon is on a boat back to Hwaido w Gyubaek. She is unfortunately captured and taken to one of Kiseok’s underground drug plants where she finds her old stalker being harvested for plant food. She is frantically searching for Gyubaek and is highly stressed. Gyubaek had managed to escape before being captured so he ended up contacting BeomHee about their whereabouts. Chaewoo finds out and he’s off with BeomHee, Heejoon and more Kwon guards to find and save Lee Yeon. Lee Yeon was being held down forcefully and she begins to bleed. She cries out for her baby and a sudden explosion is heard as men start to shoot the place. Chaewoo comes in and holds an inconsolable Lee Yeon and takes her to a hospital immediately as she prays for her baby’s safety. Everything turns out fine tho, the baby is healthy and Lee Yeon is fine.
Days go by and the secret drug plants are all over the news as well as a warrant on Kwon KiSeok who had gone missing. They believe he had fled the country (he’s dead inside a basement lol). They declare Chaewoo as the new CEO of the Kwon business.
Chaewoo goes back to live in Hwaido with Lee Yeon now that Kiseok is out of the picture. Six months pass and they are expecting a baby girl (not a boy). Chaewoo plans a baby shower for her and Gyubaek writes a book for his little sister (they don’t actually adopt him but Lee Yeon treats him like a son, and has even mentioned how excited she is for him to be a big brother). She wants to name their daughter Namwoo (tree in Korean is Namu, she’s basically naming her daughter tree). Chaewoo hates trees and deems them his rivals lol.
Kwon Heejoon is excited to be an uncle but Chaewoo is very hesitant to have him around and refuses to show him pictures of ultrasounds, so Heejoon hacks his way into finding his nieces pictures lol.
We don’t actually get to meet baby Namwoo tho, the story ends with Lee Yeon being six months pregnant.
