And here I thought we were all having fun, y’all are not rocking with this story.
Personally im having a blast. It’s interesting to see the typical uke and seme roles reversed. The bottom is also really into it in a way we don’t get to see other ukes be, plus there stamina matches. I think they’re really compatible. I like stories that are different and this is right up my alley
Same here, I'm so shocked that not everyone is vibing with it. I agree with you there that, It's really interesting and takes familiar tropes we see in bl and flips it over, plus they seem to match each other well.
I personally find Woohyun to be a very interesting character and looking forward to seeing his story more especially his relationship with his father.
I feel like most of my issues with this would’ve been resolved is the reason the mc wanted to become a powerful mage was so that he can transform himself into an omega and no one would question him or the ml’s love but the ml isn’t bothered that he’s a beta. My favorite parts of this is when the mc has autonomy.
I really wanted to like this but the mls are lame. I don’t even have a reason to think they’re good at sex, it looks like it’s painful and sucks, foreplay is hot I swear. If the mc had any sense he would walk them like dogs cause they’re embarrassing. How can you be rich and famous and still fight so hard to be a loser, you just don’t have to do that.
You know what’s crazy, the story changed the first ml’s personality right when they had sex for the first time and he became a worst less interesting person. He seemed like a sweet guy interested in some heavy stuff and that made him kinda nervous. Thats kinda cute, what happened.
It’s shows that you can develop a character who presents as naive and childish without making them mentally a child. The mc is intelligent and schemes (tho non malicious) in a way that other characters shown as youthful would not. I believe he will be able to handle the responsibilities of being a head merchant and it doesn’t feel forced. It’s like the author built him off of real people rather than tropes and I appreciate that.
And here I am excited for a stalker uke, thinking that I’ll finally have an mc who unapologetically loves the ml’s advances but it’s reduced to the same rapey storyline. It’s the same shit, even when they try to switch it up it always ends up as the same shit. It’s as if they only know how to write 2 characters and put them in interesting premises they may or may not follow. Like the uke isn’t even a stalker fr. Now, the seme’s fun character is reduced to a loser rapist. The uke didnt have a personality compatible with the premise causing all agency to be striped from him. It’s so bad that I don’t even think they have chemistry; your romance should never devolve to the point if they never spoke again it would be a good ending.

This story falls into the usual trap of fucking hating women. I overlooked the game mc and her twin sister losing everything despite being canonically the only good people bc that’s what this story is, the story is fucked up. But then they have the twin in hysteria sleep with the man that tried to sell her as a sex slave then had female relative that are just random civilians raped by a dog. Like why? This level of aggression and humiliation is not given to the men. Actually looks like most will get a “good” ending. Why do dark fantasies always have women suffering the most while also having no autonomy in the narrative, you mean to tell me even his villainous daughter just smiles, looks pretty, and follows orders? You mean to tell me game mc’s male relatives couldn’t have been raped by a dog too? Ok
Spoilers for the Light Novel
The manga hasn't gotten to it yet but the heroine's brother is also sold into slavery and raped that same night at the circus by the slave trader that Lyrto is running to find. Malaki is the one to trick Lyrto into thinking he's showing the boy that being a slave isn't so bad by raping Malaki in front of the slaves and their masters. There's also a lot they skip over in the manga, like the fact that Juliette isn't evil and her worst crimes when she's Dragon Priestess is telling Nasha to stop hanging around her fiancé and forcing Nasha to attend her Priestess classes that she keeps skipping (which is an important plot point later). They also skip over Marie having sex with more than just the sex slaver because random men will give her drugs and him getting hooked on the drug, she's so out of it she forgets that she's Nasha's sister and has to be reminded. They also go further into Nasha being "evil" in the original game but since she has the backing of the prince and later the dragon no one goes against her in the game. The manga doesn't do the best job of comparing what originally happens in the game versus what happens with Andrim's interference.
Oh okay,
I wouldn’t have had a problem if it was just fucked up for all the hero characters and it seems the novel was that way. I still wouldn’t have really gotten the twins sisters torture porn cause she’s really going through it for someone the least involved but since it’s getting to her sister I can understand it’s place. I may still drop it, the premise is so cool and the subversion is really compelling but if they’ve already made structural changes to the story that put me off I wouldn’t be surprised if nothing comes together in a satisfying way for me. I’ll look into the novel instead.
Yeah the novel has more detail about the story and why things are happening/character motivations. It's a much better read and does a good job of balancing the physical torture with the emotional torture the male leads go through (except Jolga, he's having the best time ever). The novel does double down on classism and treating mid level nobles like demons and still treats the heroine and anyone connected to her terribly so that may be a turn off.
More light novel spoilers
I agree with you on the twin torture. I don't think Marie deserves the torture but it's not as bad as what apparently happens to Marie in the game if Nasha goes the Sigurd route. She and her sister are in a love triangle and Nasha ruins her sister just to have Sigurd and laughs at her pain. Since Juliette is taking the Sigurd route it seems like Marie was destined to suffer like she does when Nasha pursues Sigurd. The book hammers home that Nasha is genuinely terrible even in the original game.
Hi where did you read the novel ? Thank you
I get you. Im glad i stopped reading at chapter 9, because the plot wasn’t plotting. And its so disgusting the author made the girl get raped for drugs (yes, raped bc she isnt in her right mind to think properly and will 100% never do that if she wasnt on the drug). Idc the plot had potential in the beginning but not anymore. And anyone that says “you just cant handle dArk” is dumb asf and is trying to justify this shitty story.
