honestly, i will never understand the let’s-drag-it-out trope, yeah maybe it sounds enticing for the readers from the author’s standpoint but at the end of the day it makes the readers hate the character, writing, and the story becomes forgettable in the long run. we(the readers) will usually forget how much fun we had at the beginning and will remember how stupidly frustrated we became over a weak plot arc. please PLEASE stop doing this authors
