I still think it’s so interesting no matter how much the witches are like “at the end of the day we’re just humans with human hearts” their humanity must always be questioned because of the pact. Even the wises who are supposed to represent the borderline, try to find ways to deviate from the past, but even they must be questioned when it comes to their humanity because at the end of the day, they will never truly cross the line that’s in the sand and there is nothing non magics can do about it but suffer. In the fight between the brimmed hats and the pointed hats the only real losers will be those who can’t do magic specifically due to the magic cops because they can fight without magic and they can fight with magic but non-magics can’t do the same. Like Custas said they are in a fight against fate and due to that they will never truly be on the other level of mages.

I genuinely think there needs to be another character like The King, who keeps trying to cross that line due to his pure heart and true desire of wanting to protect those who can’t protect themselves. They need to do something to even the playing field because taking away the knowledge of medicine isn’t the same of taking away the knowledge of magic especially in the middle age setting where science isn’t where it’s at now. Like if they were granted the ability to do life-saving surgery, but our only allowed to do such surgery on those who don’t know magic like if they’re able to heal those who have become paralyzed, but can’t heal the wise in teaching.

Please, please please get your happy ending king please please please like if he doesn’t get a happy ending, I’m gonna crash out like what more do you want from him?!?!?

She needs an actual man to be her boyfriend one who can meet her where she’s at instead of someone who she hast to wait for like he’s genuinely so pathetic. It makes me sad. Like what do you mean? You just started on self discovery journey like a month ago. What is wrong with you? Don’t take him back, girl raise the bar for yourself.

MC

The main character should’ve been been able to kill everyone with a gun. I’m so so serious. I’m so serious. Not the lesbian or her fake boyfriend’s crush though, but the teacher, the other teacher and her big boyfriend should’ve all died by her hand. I’m so serious the fact that she gave him she should’ve had him burn in hell and cursed him out all the way down.

“oh don’t apologize dummy you did the best you could”
no, he didn’t. He didn’t actually, and if that is his best, he should never try again. Genuinely. The fact she gave the other teacher itself is crazy. Like how are you gonna steal both of her men?!?! I genuinely think she should’ve left town and never looked back

If you are an avid lover of side characters and their potential don’t read this. They all deserved so much better even the worse one because I can totally see him as the crazy ML who gets healed with the powers of love (kinda like this ML). Getting to the end and finding out that the creator didn’t care about the side characters really felt so vindicating but also a slap to the face like why are you using words like I think this is what would happen with them?!? You are the primary creator?!?! Even the best friend who you think is going to play a bigger role in this really doesn’t matter at the end. The main story itself is fine or whatever

I feel like his brother story is so interesting because like if I didn’t have the knowledge of them being a side couple and the experience of reading other stories where I know if two people who are semi related to the main story start appearing together, then most likely, they will be turned into a side story I would’ve never thought they would’ve got together. Like I didn’t even think his brother liked him as a person because of just how disrespectfully flippin he would act with him. And it definitely did get better because it started to seem like he didn’t hate spending time with him and started to care about him, but in a way where it could be right as platonic and the only time I could think of it ever being romantic was when they were sitting at the table together, but other than that, I was like “oh ok I guess that is gonna happen somehow.”

I been a Oushi supporter since day one and I just find the current situation for him so heartbreaking. I think it’s sweet that he is being honest with himself even if he sees the writing on the wall. In this situation only he will be hurt and he knew it and when through with it anyway. I don’t think I want Oushi and FL to stop being friends anymore but I think Oushi will need time to heal over this. I still think ML should stop trying to push his friendship on Oushi when he has made it VERY clear that he doesn’t want it even if he is currently tolerating it.

I do think he will need someone to help pick up the pieces of his broken heart and I know everyone is saying the girl with the dog is the best choice but like why? Because she’s there? Because she likes him? We know nothing about her other than those two things. I think she will help him but I can’t say I agree with them dating afterwords. If anything I see the opposite happening that Oushi doesn’t get with his first love and she also doesn’t but they both still support the other one anyways.

The side couple doesnt even get a kiss together im going to be sick

I feel so bad for this man like the things she did to him were horrible and probably caused him PTSD and then he hast to reconcile with the fact that she abandoned him and not the other way around and the OG FL doesn’t really like him like he’s alone but he was so proud and arrogant and he couldn’t admit it but like who cares if he couldn’t admit it, it won’t change the fact that he’s alone. He deserves a better end.

Also the MC’s step brother shares a similar fate so I feel bad for him too. I would love any info about him since he seems to just disappear.

Like he walked into a foreign nation and talk to the prince and is like your laws are sexist just FYI like he really has no chill

I think it’s so interesting and entertaining when Erica finally decides to go mask off and just tries to sink her fangs into as many people as possible because like none of them are her allies so she doesn’t really give a fuck about any of them and how people say that’s really villainous but like main characters do that. It’s just has a good thing because they’re good people, but at the end of the day they bring them down because they’re bad people but because they aren’t allies to the main character and that’s exactly why Erica is doing. Antagonist are always able to be so much more interesting than their protagonist counterparts.

At first I felt anger like the rest of yall and the MC for the MLs treatment of Emi however after finding out the story I can’t help but feel extremely bad for the crown prince. I would even go as far to say that he is the second biggest victim in this story.

When is he introduced, his defining trait is his insecurity. Like it’s really important to stress how big his insecurity is because due to how big his insecurities are that he’s able to be taken advantage by someone literally praying on him. Like it’s nice how in the beginning said insecurities were temporary soothed by Emi’s words but like that doesn’t leave him the skills to fight it on his own. It’s only an oasis in the desert. Don’t forget that even though the potion doesn’t brainwash people, it makes them highly agreeable to manipulation which I imagine works especially well for someone dealing with intense insecurity. It caused him to dig his head in the sand because she was pressing all the right buttons and if he admitted that he was wrong all this time, I have no doubt that he wouldn’t break because it would mean the monster that tells him he’s not worth anything was right.

Which is why it’s so heartbreaking that he’s proven right and then thrown away like he’s worthless especially in a genre that is extremely reliant on the concept of empathy and redemption.

MC

The MC is going through a whole different plot then the rest of the characters and it’s insane

He should genuinely leave his sister’s side. He wouldn’t bc she is the main character but he should. The reason she shows “love” to him only to stop his later actions. She doesn’t genuinely care for him like how the story wants you to think because she has been manipulating him the entire time almost akin to Stockholm syndrome bc he is so brainwashed that when he finds out that his sister has been lying to him his entire life, he is just going to forgive her like the good dog he is. The whole story they treat him like a nuisance in the way of their love and lives together and it’s so sad that he will never be happy in a way that doesn’t center people who won’t do the same for him.

Also, in addition to just the weirdness surrounding that incredibly toxic relationship. Class relations is also extremely weird and unsettling due to the fact that they try to make it seem like people who are born in poverty, and who are like you know, suffering under oppression and starving are villains for asking for a lot from the church. Granted, I think they were asking for a little bit too much right they were asking for this woman to essentially die for them right but I need people to understand that’s like they are actually being asked to die by the powers that be all the time like they don’t have any power, and they barely have enough food and a literal Saint is in front of them and she’s a noble which means she has money and the literal ability to make most of their problems go away. They did become a bit too relying on her. I can totally see why they would because they are literal peasants. And the fact that the answer to their demands is to completely remove, the Saints blessing from the people and singly only give it to other nobles like her and the royal family is crazy like they should’ve rebelled or just left. They should’ve had a mass migration genuinely. Like the fact that the nobles legitimately think that no bless oblige is enough for the peasants to live off of is crazy and truly goes to show how privilege and arrogant they are. Like the occasional glance from a Noble isn’t going to be enough to feed a family. The people also should’ve stopped believing that the church will come save them and become a more atheist community which Is fairly similar to what really happened in situations like this when the church made it clear that they were no longer going to save the people. I just feel like it’s extremely weird to blame you know literal peasants for flip-flopping on the scene when all that truly matters to them is who is going to be helping them at that specific moment. Faith and nobless oblige doesn’t feed stomach. Actions do.

Even if you look at it like objectively, it is just weird to write about peasants being at fault for you know their situation. I don’t know. It’s just weird. The story has really good ideas and concepts, but the place where they choose to go with them is insanely disappointing.

Yellowcanary created a topic of For My Abandoned Love

Like usually the person I feel the worst for is the second male lead who would be the crown prince in this case. His wife who doesn’t really love his is the main cause of his problems. His best friend, who he found out his actions lead to his attempts, treats him like an annoyance. Said “best friend”’s wife hates him but due to her powers he has to keep her around which she uses to her advantage to make his life worse sometimes via blackmail. His father seems to prefer his best friend over him. He is slowly losing power and his mind with no one truly on his side.

I truly feel for him because even at the end the person on his side is under the duchess like someone please save him. Like how Hes came to save cael. He needs someone to come save him but a happy end isn’t in sight for him (at least one I don’t think is happy)

I think the way the parents move is genuinely so interesting because after they do something negative I’m left here thinking “oh they just don’t care” but then they prove they do. Like when the father sends him away I’m thinking he’s only using his child as a pawn for diplomacy like when he tells him to make friends to strengthen diplomacy but he also told him that so his son isn’t lonely in a strange land all by himself.

Also the fact that almost all the adults tell him to rely on them since they probably see that he’s would be incredibly lonely without his sister and assistant

I understand why people are mad that She won’t set hardline boundaries but like she’s very clearly someone who gets taken up by her whims so I don’t think she’s going to be setting those boundaries for a long time to be honest simply because she gets so excited about an idea she completely forgets what is socially acceptable.

The advice his friends gave was such bad advice I think about it often like no you actually shouldn’t confide in a complete stranger about your family secrets

I think his parents are so strange in the way they were like “if you ever committed crime, I will not hesitate to throw you away” like that’s an insane thing to say to a child

I think the thing this story does best is make it very clear help this is very much a family tragedy no matter what angle it goes which is why some of the things Callisto says well seemingly sweet has no weight even if he’s right because like why would a family want to assume that their daughter tried to kill the other one? From either side. They don’t wanna think Penelope tried to kill the pink haired girl, but they also don’t want to think the pink haired girl tried to kill Penelope to that there has to be a third answer because both of them are the daughters of the family at least to the younger brother and the father. Because if A or B were the right answer, they have to say goodbye to a daughter they desperately don’t wanna let go of. This story may have a romance, but at its core it’s a devastating family tragedy and there’s no happy ending insight.
