i'm referring to Yuuki's first time with Kaname. If you were waiting for the monthly updates and waging ship wars on forums (shame on my bratty high school self) that chapter broke every Zeki shipper's heart I swear. It came as such a shock. And we always knew sensei liked the age gap dynamic between her leads so the real canon ship at first was Kaname x Yuuki, but then a lot of fans were disgusted/ooutraged or maybe she changed her mind, i'm not sure, either way she tried to console us all with Zero being her "second choice"
Either way, vampire knights is just heartbreaking u_u but hughkey loved every second of it

I thought this webtoon showed promise with how it actually tried to get us to relate to and root for the MC by showing her good nature and her struggles, but then after she transmigrates it all goes downhill. I'm sure many have noticed that this takes a lot (A LOT) of inspiration from "Who Made Me A Princess" (heck, the way some panels are planned and drawn are literally ctrl+c and ctrl+v) but here's the thing: it fails. She's reincarnated, what next, I'm so excited to find out! Oh, she's loved by a bunch of characters that keep showing up...oh shit I'm already bored.
See, why "Who Made Me A Princess" worked is because there was tension. It keeps us on edge because Claude wants to kill Athy and she has to struggle to survive. And in that very struggle she gradually becomes friends with characters we learn to care for because Athy cares for them, and we slowly learn to love Claude because we can see clearly how much he comes to care for our beloved MC (and that's why the isekai kinda works because before she was an orphan and now Claude fills that void for her, it makes sense that she loves him) Emphasis on slowly. This story takes all that away in one chapter, and have I mentioned the hilariously brief and cringey outburst of the demon lord? It went AHHHH and oh...okay I guess I'll smile warmly and love her now. LMAO wut? Also choosing to expose all your cards before we get to form emotional connection to both the demon lord and the mother? bad move cause she dies and I'm just here like I couldn't care less about these characters.

Yes! Thank you! Getting readers to like, relate to, and root for a character is an art form—and it takes TIME. Showing that they have suffered is great and all, but it isn't enough. Readers become more invested as they see the character working to overcome and using their strengths and experience. A big party of what makes 'Who Made Me a Princess' so fun was Athy's attitude in the face of adversity, and her justified suspicion even after it eased. Tension is key!
I feel like you should stick with it to see if you might like the future plot, we haven’t gotten that deep into the story yet, only 3 chapters have been uploaded, so it wouldn’t hurt to give it a chance, I personally like it so far, but your opinion is your opinion, if we get into more of the plot and conflicts and you still don’t like it, drop it by all means. I just feel like you should give the story a chance and let it develop it’s own plot before you discard it as a whole. (I just assumed you were going to stop reading because you feel like it’s a bad copy, but if you were planning on reading more, this comment is basically useless)

I love talking about this stuff with other people. I'm not into bashing other storytellers, we're all in different places learning how to share what we love. I just like to study the artform, but that's a double-edged sword. You get better at your own storytelling and writing, but you also get dancing flags whispering 'fix me!' when you read (⊙…⊙ ) it's terribly distracting. Maybe some day I'll learn to turn it off?
I'm just particularly invested in character and plot construction. It's what got me interested in writing, because I admire so much when it is well done. I love that weird mixture of excitement and envy when I find something good. It's the most motivating feeling. Helps me conquer writer's block.
Omg gurl, same. It's not like I always try to read everything critically, but I'm trying to be a writer myself and I can't turn the switch off, which makes it hard to read for fun, but the good thing is when you find that one good story in a pile of mediocrity you just can't help tearing up from both envy and admiration lol

And then I'm like 'why do I love this so much??' and obsessively dissect it in the hope I can sew the pieces back together with all the other ones I've gathered to make something with my own hands that I love as much...hahhh... Someday. Someday other aspiring writers will squeal over our characters and feel that wondrous joy-envy that makes us cry. A glorious cycle of awesomeness...

ah at this point i can't see the chemistry between oso and leon, at least not yet, because it seems the affection is quite one-sided? and because the secretary gets arguably more screen time than leon, i kinda inadvertently started shipping them dammit. Because theirs is the love help trope? (that "you have a hopeless crush and i'm always there so you force me to help and we end up falling for each other in the process" trope)

Leon has no real reason to like Oso, Oso just likes him because he was lonely and that was his first friend. Leon was just dragged around like a doll. So of course there isn't no chemistry.
