Marie really shouldn't tell her. Not only because she's a thieving bitch but also because she just told the Crown Prince (?) her plan last night. If this girl who Marie is 'working' for comes with the exact same plan but with sugar, I think that'll be the last straw for him. I think he'll have enough if her bs and kick her ou-
...wait you know what. Marie...please tell her
I see a lot of comments hating on Jeanette saying that they don't like her now or they never did and while I was weary of her from the beginning, you guys honestly had no reason to hate her before. Its just like when second male lead comes and gets in the way of your ship. They're a nice person but you hate them for their existance which honestly...doesn't make any sense. (It's different if you're a novel reader cause I heard she's a bitch in the novel but if you are jist starting this story with the manwah...thats irrational hate, she has done literally nothing wrong)
And now people are starting to hate her for her naivety which is understandable but its not really naivety...its desperation. Its not like she wholeheartedly trusted her real dad in the beginning, she was weary of him, but then he started to be the only one willing to listen and talk to her. Izekal told her about his feelings for Athy and started to push her away, Athy started to push her away because of her affect on her father, her uncle never cared that much, her aunt was dead and she felt alone. Its only natural that she would begin to trust the only person who would listen to her worries or complaints, who gave her advice and understood her. The girl is just lonely. And guys...how tf is she supposed to just guess that, that dude is her dad when her whole life she was told the emperor was and she isn't human and is practically poisoning the Emperor. She didn't even know that man could use magic! Not even her uncle knew he could cast a curse until just now! With all of this going on, of course she's in the dark. No one is telling her anything! She can't just make a giant guess and solve all the mysteries in her life when, like I said, everyone is pushing her away and noy telling her anything!
Now I have mixed feelings for Jeanette because I understand she just wants a real family with who she believes to be her sister and father but she is getting too desperate. Like its not her fault because everyone is pushing her away and she's confused but come on, take a step back sweetheart. I know she wants to be there and help but if you have nothing to add, you're just in the way. Sigh...tbh I want both her and Athy to have a happy ending and treat each other like sisters anyway but I doubt thats the ending we're going to get...
soo true!! i understand that people may not find these naive/ desperate characters likable but people to be REALLY comfortable in hating her as of late :( like really violent reactions
the "she was evil in the novel so that's, why I'm gonna hate her in the manwha"doesn't hold water for me also, like so what? this manwha is a different interpretation it has never been accurate to the source 100%. Spoon always tried to flesh out these characters more then they had in the novel, its really sad that they want to undo everything spoon worked up to just because the original source she is "evil"
and the sad part is the story is definitely gonna make Jeanette an accomplice to more of the brother's evil plan so people are gonna use that as more fuel to hate her and think shes stupid :// which is undeserving since she isn't aware of it in the first place
In the novel btw jeanette and Izekiel were a lot more in the background, they weren’t characters that were very focused on the story. But since we’re talking about the manhwa it’s clear that jeanette isn’t rlly supposed to be a likeable character. We are introduced to athy who is someone who came from nothing and is now trapped in a story book and will do anything in order to survive, athy is funny, has a lot of character and is smart and charming she’s not needy or a spoiled and is adorable. The fact that she will do anything for claudes love made her very likeable and relatable because if you are someone who has daddy issues you’ve probably felt the same way towards your dad, so to see athy finally win over cluades love was very sweet. Then we are introduced to jeannette, the first time she gets introduced is to show how jeanette is a horrible person who steals cluades love in the story book. Though we actually see that she isn’t a horrible person it’s very upsetting having her around when the readers and athy know that there’s a chance she can turn evil and steal claudes love that athy worked so hard for. It can also be annoying when jeannette talks about how claude is her father because the readers and athy know that’s not true and her real father is right beside her. It’s not jeanntes fault but it’s so hard to like her knowing all that.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure there will be no romance between them and he meant the 'attraction' thing in a platonic, familial way. I feel like a lot of you are forgetting that he is her paternal uncle. They are related by blood and I know that in certain time periods that sort of thing was accepted and expected but I don't this is that kind of story. Like he said she smelt like a 'new born baby that needed protection' and 'dew from a freshly rippened fruit.' He obviously thinks of her solely as a child so all of you 'pedo' commenters can stop cause there's no need as far as I know.

Later on she is then taken in as a slave by the ml who is now the emperor or some big shot and she doesn’t know it’s her and she like rapes her and hurts her and she still falls back in love with him. From what other people said, the MC ends up with the baron and returns to her old world and they meet there again. Iris ends up with the crown prince, the younger sister ends up with the prince’s sword instructor, and Ashley doesn’t end up with anybody(her choice) and inherits the count’s title.
Ripley, sweetie, I love you but you are the worst villainess I've ever seen
