To mostly answer your question : the reason why they declined him is because of the suspicious amount of healing ointment. If it was 2 boxes sure, but it’s 200 Boxes instead. Why the fuck would you need that many, and what for? They are right to decline him because as what the user above me said, he was acting suspicious. Then the next thing we know, there’s a war ongoing, and that inadvertedly solved our question. It was going to be used for war. Hence why he’s buying so many of it.
Also, I think they (Ripley and the blonde) will have that weighing on their conscience that this crazy ass prince decided to waged war confidently because of their healing ointment, knowing it does more harm than good.
I understand that but thats why I don't understand why they didn't sell it. Yes, he was super sus when he put the order in but after they met him and they themselves concluded that he was planning a war, why not sell it? As we know, whether he got the ointment or not, the war still happened but now those soldiers out to war don't have healing ointment because they didn't sell it. I understand the suspicion and weariness but if you know that there is a chance of a lot of people getting hurt and you have something that could possibly save lives while making a profit that you desperately need, kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
I don’t think you understand the suspicion and wariness if you still don’t get why they didn’t sell the ointment. No matter how pretty you spin it, they still inadvertently had a hand in the war which made a lot of people suffer. Not selling the ointment means they condemn his actions.
Also think of it this way : why does the prince need to wage war in border skirmishes when before little to none people get hurt? He’s just creating more reason to have conflict at this point.
I see but the war was not based on their ointment. Like I said, the war happened either way. The prince just heard about it and was like, "That'll help in the war in 2 weeks!" It's not like he based this whole war with the idea of having their ointment to back them up. And once again, this is war! If the war was going to happen either way, ointment or not, I don't see the issue in not selling. Would it save lives? Perhaps. Know what else could save lives? Not starting an unnecessary war when the borders are peaceful.
It's not their job to save everyone, especially when it's related to the decision of one person, even more so when it's not related to defense, but offense.

So yes, it’s their problem and one of the solutions they came up with is to support the war any further by not selling the ointment.

Well I didn't say the people would condemm the prince, I just said they would condemn them. Like I said, I'm seeing this from the view of how many lives would be saved. I can see where you are coming from with the cream might encourage the war to go on but if the war started from nothing then its not going to end because a couple hundred soldiers die. Its like saying stop sending nurses to war because soldiers being healed from battle just makes the war go on. The ointment not being sold is going to cause a lot more damage than good. Imagine your child or partner goes out to war and gets injured and they manage to save their life with the ointment. Again, as a citicizen, I won’t be condeming neither the soldiers nor ripley. I’d be criticizing him. And honestly, if the word gets out about the war, the criticisms will fall onto the prince because of his actions and not Ripley / Blondie.

The only damage i’m seeing the ointment cause is the loss of investment due to spoilage. Since aside from small scars and wounds, the ointment hasn’t been proven as miraculous as curing a stab wound or reattaching an arm (yes, i am exaggerating for trying to make my point across)
As vicious as this sounds, yes, lack of supplies (manpower, weapons etc) WILL stop the war. So yeah go stop sending supplies or manpower to this psycho prince because what thats whats need to be done; to cut off the funding of the prince, force him to retreat or surrender to stop the war even if it means people dying. War is never won with both sides victor; there should be someone who’s going to surrender to cease it and cutting off the supplies while it’s still fresh and there’s small number of casualties is the best method rn, just second to creating diplomatic relations or treaties (they aint barbaric why tf do they have to wage war)

Going behind your friends back and 'fake' dating his ex-girlfriend who you know he's still in love with is absolutely disgusting. He can say he's doing it for him all he wants but there is no reason they need to kiss. I feel so bad for Leo. Imagine, you confine in your friend about your heartbreak and they do this crap. I don't hate but I also don't like Erika either. I just really don't think I can get behind this plot. Literally cried for Leo during the carriage scene.
