Don't get me wrong as far as "plot" and "story writing" goes (wow, look at that meta) it wasn't bad.

But the content is super heavy and I think particular characters getting or not getting a 'happy ending' was what really shook me.

Because after someone goes through so much you hope and wish for vindication but, not every ending is sunny side up :(
For some reason I didn't expect him to come back with a knife. I thought too linearly like - my mans escapes to the police, boom 21 year old is dead but police cuff murder maniac because that's definitive proof. End of story.
