no matter how i hate how the story is progressing, it IS a testament of how good some authors hook in the readers in their own little world. i picked up YI thinking it was some good ol’ generic shoujo manhwa (nothing wrong with that) but surprise surprise.
because yeonwoo is no introvert. he has a severe case of social anxiety and these past chapters are just here to tell us about that. i’ll admit how annoyed i get reading some of his internal dialogues whilst dating the fl, especially with this countdown shenanigan he started of when he’ll be breaking up with the fl soon… but now, i think i’ve come to grasp yeonwoo’s personality more and how his ineptness at solving problems stems from his middle school trauma. the fl is also being given more depth by the author regarding her stoic character, which to us readers are considered a pretty normal trait for a manhwa character- in fact it is a “dere” type which some of us are attracted to

the author is genuinely amazing for making me feel the pain im feeling. and because i was thinking it was going to be worse, junhyuks smile at the end of this chapter shined so brightly.... the author is really amazing...
ive also heard that people arent that interested in the fl because shes just =_= and all stoic and stuff but i really think theyve done an amazing job with her mystery that makes me want to look into it so much more! like how shes obsessed with chocolates, her model past with that man that rabdomly came to their school to see her, and that episode with the teddies... shes definitely more than meets the eye
much like how its showing yeonwoos past and his present self's reasoning, im sure the fl's past will be just as, if not more intriguing
its really slow when theyre uncovering secrets but im still here for it!!
basically half of it is where the real rant is at about the rumor and post-arc clarification within the extras but oh well
i forgot about the bear lol ngl it was ff creepy when i read that. i also barely remember how the fl is in a ‘model house’ where the in built furnitures are barely touched (dusty), kinda represents her in a way. we saw how the only character in the house is the scattered pieces of chocolates that the fl gobbled up due to immense stress and did her friend know about her condition?
it’s perplexing how the fl was treated growing up just because she acts outside of what a normal child would. now that she’s in high school, suddenly her behavior becomes somewhat attractive? people of society are scary.

This exactly. It kinda annoys me that some people are saying all this back story is not necessary but honestly it helps give the story depth!! People complaining to the author are too lazy to actually get the whole point of the story. I love it and the emotions the author is able to convey throughout the chaps is absolutely astonishing
