A lot of people I'm seeing think of growing mostly as a age difference which is a big part of it. Yes, but I also consider grooming to be a position difference as well. Usually with grooming. What we see is with a student and a teacher. Not only is there a huge age Gap there but there's also a position of power. The king is literally the king which is the highest position of power there is and from how long he's planning this. I would consider this grooming even if he started the grooming as a child. Because what we forget is when asha is a child, the king is a teenager. Plus we can see visually the beginning of his grooming cuz grooming starts out with small little lies like in the palace you hold hands. And yes, asha is dense as hell, but that doesn't mean he isn't being groomed. A lot of people don't realize they're being groomed until things have gone too far. Like just because you don't realize it doesn't mean it's not happening.
i agree with this take the most. grooming isn’t only about the age gap but the power dynamics. manipulation is going to be involved, that’s what grooming IS. manipulating your position of power in order to get to the end goal which is basically making asha and him the only two people left of marriageable age is as clear as it’s going to get.
The plot feels like when you're talking with your best friend and she's telling you about a story that she assumes you've read because you've lied to her and now you're trying to gasp what the hell she's talking about.
Such good way to describe it. Novel is much better quality, it’s wasted potential
