Alright. This novel is not new. Just a few years old. I think it was released in 21 or 22. Anyways, this novel has been revised now. Initially this novel had some aspects which were severely protested by the korean readers such as the resemblance to nth room case and bestiality. The new versions on ridi and bomtoon has replaced the bestiality (dog) with a sex machine so you might not see the dog sex scene in the webtoon. Though it did happen in the first version. I have read it myself. There is no love till the end. The relationship is of kind of mutual dependence where ML and MC are broken because of each other but can’t live without each other as well. ML due to his obsession of revenge and MC due to his trauma. The ML doesn’t regret anything. Well atleast in the first version he doesn’t. He has broken MC but the satisfaction of that is lukewarm. At the end of novel, it is like ML has now taken over MC and now will keep him with him as a toy/plaything or a pet. It’s just like you have something useless but can’t throw it away for whatever reason so you keep it with yourself stored at home.

All of this is happening because Jiwook used to bully and sexually assault the ML in middle school. Jiwook was initially good with ML AND he was attracted to ML as well. However due to the fear of homosexuality and afraid of peer pressure, he started bullying and sexually assaulting ML after ML confessed to liking him or being gay.

The abuse involved sexually assaulting ML with his friends, like forcing him for blow jobs, rape etc. the last abuse ML suffered was when Jiwook added a bunch of vibrators in his ass and bound him and left him in the washroom near library. One guy was on duty of keeping an eye on him but Jiwook never came back. The ML was super scared and was rescued by the security guard at night. That was day ML’s mom came to know about the abuse ML suffered because he hadn’t been to home that day due to being locked in the washroom. Also, from that day MC stopped paying attention to ML just on a whim, he left him in washroom and just decided that he should now study.

ML’s sexual pics were being circulated around by Jiwook so ML’s mom also happened to see them. From then she hated the lipstick and color red I think (it’s been long since I read it) because in the pic ML had some writings written on him with red lipstick. ML’s mom mental health deteriorated and got admitted to hospital.

ML was initially a very sweet boy buy due to the abuse and bullying he suffered, he became twisted and wanted to take revenge on Jiwook. Then when Jiwook lost his memories of the ML, the ML became more deranged because according to him, only he was suffering and stuck in the past which everyone eventually forgot and moved on from.

Now onto the abuse Jiwook suffers, there is gangbang on two occasions I guess. Both planned by ML. First is similar to nth room case, where ML shares Jiwook’s sexual pics to different people who wants to bang him and has grudge against him. The men will beat him brutally, rape him brutally, and even try to drown him in water basin in pretext of washing his mouth since MC vomited after being punched badly. The rape is really bad. When the men are done, they will take pics and send then to ML. The ML’s thoughts were that he will have to clean up the mess they left on MC and that he didn’t think they will go so hard on MC. No remorse though. Just a apathetic sorry to MC because he expected them to rape MC but not so hard.

The second gangrape is done extremely brutally which is actually allowed by ML. ML even wants it to be done brutally to punish MC. When MC is losing his mind due to abuse in the gangrape, ML is like why are you losing your mind already? The gangrape involves beating, using baseball bat (I think) to fuck him, using urethra plug to force him to ejaculate him again again with pain, urinating in his mouth and asshole, it’s extremely disturbing.

MC will keep asking what he did that ML is doing this to him but ML will not tell until the last gangrape. After the last gangrape, MC will awake in hotel and regain his memories. He will apologize to the ML. Now he is broken and damaged beyond repair. He is so afraid to even go outside without ML because he thinks those men will come again and rape him. Thus he wants to stay with ML . Stockholm syndrome is beginning and will fully kick in the side stories.

The dog bestiality scene is in side story 2 but it has already been changed to a sex machine after the protest.

My pet peeve with this novel is that if it’s marketed as a revenge story and something that will depict the pain sexually abused people feel then it does a pretty shitty job at that. ML is shown to have become completely psychopathic. Given he was abused, given he wasn’t given justice, given his abusers were free but the time he raped and allowed other people to become sexual abusers just like him, he no longer comes in the category of victim.

An eye for an eye, if we go with it then how can you guage the emotional suffering someone has suffered. MC was so brutally abused, broken and even stripped of his humanity with the bestiality scene that do you really think they are on equal foot now? What about the people who gangraped MC? Aren’t those sexual abusers? Is there any difference left between MC and ML. Does degrading someone so much equals to the suffering the ML suffered? Kill Jiwook, beat him up but this whatever the writer wrote nowhere justifies anything. The name “walk in my shoes” is fucked up joke.

This is a fetishized work, because in the end the focus is not on empathy or regret but rather sexual abuse, the degradation and ultimately whatever the author could jam to make it disgusting. Even the thoughts, the dialogues, they are super apathetic. There was a brilliant way to go about this novel if it really focused on the theme of revenge. There are many dark novels/works in the world but this doesn’t even come close to it. It is disgusting porn in disguise of novel.

The people criticizing others who are leaving bad reviews, do you guys even know what the review section is for? It literally asks people to give their thoughts about the work so other audience can know what people thought of this work. If someone wants to say it’s bad or good, they are literally given a section that “here tell people how you felt about it”. That’s the review section. Anything that comes on internet as a means of entertainment or media for people, people do have a right to give their opinion about it. What's so fucking difficult about it? Author and artist can write and draw disgusting shit like this but people can’t even openly give their review? The fuck kind of mentality is that? If you enjoy it then comment that you enjoyed it and be on your way. Stop dictating others to not leave bad review or shut their mouths.

Lawwrd! This is actually completely bizzare! (Despite the art being pretty!) And after reading the spoiler from novel good gracious! Who even think of writing outright horrendous shit like this!seems like Fetishizing SA becoming a well practiced thing among yaoi authors atp!
DNF-ing this one so hard!

I love Dan he is such a cutie, and I really wish he wasn't struggling so much. I do think he has some really nice moments as a character, and I just want to give him a big hug, but am I the only one who gets the impression that he is a total wet lettuce? I just wish he had even a tiny bit of spine, because watching him fall apart while completely unable to stick up for himself is so sad. Like, this whole story would be so much better if he was less of a limp noodle- his entire character arc so far has been him being a doormat in different settings

I was reading the whole thing all over again and I'm sorry to say that I lost all sympathy towards jiwook I don't even pity him no because he was the problem he was selfish and full of his pride and his inferior complex .. seung eun tried over and over again to assure him that he loves him he wanted only to love him and see him happy he tried to fix his attitude he got over himself and changed for better but jiwook didn't care or appreciate or even seize his opportunities he was arrogant with a chip on his shoulder he hurt seungeun so much and disappeared , seungeun told him he would settle if he used him for his money his willing to as long as he stayed by his side .. but nah this wasn't good for jiwook he loved to suffer and wanted seungeun to suffer too I know part of him was relieved that seuneun was suffering he saw seungeun as a privileged person with a spacious warm house top of his class an heir to huge company it won't matter if he was rejected or humiliated or broken by the person who loved the most I'm suffering too anyway .. I'm sooo fucking mad all of this couldn't have happened they could spent the 10 years happily together if he just trusted him and swallowed his pride for once accepted the help you're allowed to show weakness in front of your loved ones and it needs courage to ask for help too asking for help is not a defeat

I hope the seme gets burned alive, i want him dead by the end of the story. This had so much potential yet it just turned into another rapey trash story in which mc will probably end up with his rapist.

Everyone’s saying he’s the worst toxic male lead but I have other thoughts lol there’s an account on Instagram that explains why he’s not a red flag and it’s eye opening to me, someone who has never read the novel and just listening to people saying he’s a red flag. If you read the novel in illegal sites I won’t believe what you say

I've read the novel and as much as I hate toxic male leads, that's the whole point of this story. Matthias is addressed as a cruel person by numerous people throughout the novel, that's the genre of the story. It's supposed to be dark, similar to Killing Stalking. While I completely understand the complaints, there's no point since the author wrote this story with the goal of it being about possession and power differences. Layla is like a poor bird trapped inside a painful cage by Matthias who would rather kill his birds then let them flee his grasp. Abusing his authority to bind her to him, that's the whole point of the story. I quite like how the story uses metaphors of how disgusting nobles treat those lower then them like animals. If an awful male lead isn't your cup of tea, then this story DEFINITELY isn't recommended for you. Matthias isn't a character about growth or change, he does what he does to get what he wants until he succeeds.

One thing I will admit tho.. romanticising this sort of behavior is extremely problematic and when writing this form of fiction, writers should be more clear within the story of what is and isn't ethical and moral for the viewers who digest this type of content wrong. Readers should also be careful when consuming this sort of literature, not everything has to teach a lesson of good deeds and acts. Some stories will purposefully depict horrid things to showcase the reality of the world we live in and signs to avoid.

Honestly I’m feeling for the mc right now. The feeling of being sheltered and only being around few people who are all positive to you that’s all you can believe. It’s not his fault he thinks he’s cute, that’s all he ever hears. He obviously doesn’t talk to other people he’s just innocent and ignorant. And the feeling of your only friend who is with you for everything slowly moving onto new people that fit them better. Haha reminds me of the old times. It’s really crazy how life changes I’m so happy and content with life now. Bruh I’m reminiscing in a comment.

Reading this while listening to Mitski was a bad bad idea, Every chapter makes me want to cry (and I did cry) this was soul-crushing. I am not okay. I hate Kloff for what he did to Aeroc. It's understandable that you hate him for what he did and want revenge but damn did you really have to take it that far? Aeroc suffered so much physically, mentally, and spiritually. I salute Aeroc for staying strong till the end and not only that he also learned his lesson.

He was killing himself with guilt and all together while dealing with all the things he had to go through yet he still chose to stay to redeem himself, learn from his mistakes, and try to make it up to you. But no you just gotta be the devil incarnate himself to make yourself feel better. I hope everyone in that rotten mansion who mistreated Aeroc will die a miserable and painful death, I hope they'll experience the pain Aeroc went through especially that devil spawn Krapp. Toodles

This is an absolute MASTERPIECE.

I agree with the comments saying how phenomenal the paneling work here is. So much of the story telling and narrative can be elevated by an excellent paneling work. This had so much development within 5 chapters than most MCs do in 60 chapters and that's talent right there. The dialogue was done REALLY well. The translations team is also BLOODY awesome. Stunning job with the translations. It's done very very well and I like how many unique words they used. I didn't know what phlegmatic meant before. I learned a new word.

Listen man MC was completely in the wrong for what he did, even if he didn’t want them to actually hurt whatshisface it was still messed up. What kloff did? In my opinion, maybe 10x worse. Not only did he physically, verbally, and mentally abuse him, he also raped him and locked him up for years- forcing him to give birth to his kids 5 TIMES all while in insufferable pain (and then refusing to let him see them and even beating him when they accidentally met). Also oh yeah he drugged him to make him be able to get pregnant in the first place, and threw him out on the street right after a pregnancy knowing bad things would happen to him… MC wasn’t even allowed to smile or be happy in any way.. And Kloff calls the MC pretentious and shit when he is constantly misunderstanding him and never bothered to try and understand him (even when they were initially on good terms) and always jumped to conclusions.

We want to talk about evil? There is absolutely no excuse for what Kloff did to the MC. To be able to do that to someone no matter how much you hate them? You have to be sick and twisted. If anyone should suffer it’s him. I feel sorry for his kids.
