saw this comment on homepage and came to say I agree. we need new refreshing scenarios/characters instead of repeated terrible plots that's predictable w/ filler sex and more.... I dropped PoTN, honestly im done with stories like this no matter the popularity its a no for me

WTF calm down, girl. Good plots have nothing with fluffy yaoi. A yaoi can be dark and still be a good yaoi. These edgy yaoi always serve terrible characters and yes, predictable stories that are now repetitive.

Thanks for seconding me. The comment section is made for people to state their honest opinions, though it seems only positive comments are allowed, which is a bit absurd and hypocrite really.
Yeah, we need new refreshing stories, new concepts... Though it seems the new generation of authors prefer to feed easy and edgy plots and characters to the Fujoshis, and these latters will be happy since so many read anything Yaoi as long as it's smutty and the Seme has a big d*ck. I can't name all the titles that follow that same pattern; there are sooo many of these lately. I'd like to read BLs with interseting intrigues, where I can learn something new and not feel like I'm losing brain cells everytime or am a big pervert who watch porn.
Like you, I also dropped PoTN. The art is gorgeous, sure, and the plot + historical setting was interesting but soon enough I found some things are lacking; some plotholes, and seeing how the author is telling their story there was no way to find responses. Finally I got tired of Nakyum always crying and being naive (the role of the MC is primordial to me and seeing a MC being so passive is tiresome), the story seems to go nowhere and the second characters and their problematic are neglected or dropped along the way... At this point of the story it seems they have no other connexion than sex and it's hard to imagine them sharing something more profund considering both personalities.
Btw, did you notice some unexpectable anatomy issues in PoTN as well?

my stance might differ from others as I started with actual bl novels to bl dramas with expectations of actual gay romance in bl manga/manhwa... so few years ago I did try to read what everyone was on which I came to regret. I like to read everything here and there so I dont consider myself a Fujoshi

it would be great if the genre is more diverse within bl instead of overused tropes, stereotypical plot/characters. same story, different face

even in general, I honestly dont like the platform bl esp yaoi is getting and inviting more young readers that hype such ideas, it then becomes the motive for authors to keep producing it (ex. this).

now for POTN I did like the art and setting but other then that just its similar to the rest, when you expect a progress it draggs I dont have the energy/interest anymore.

though there are some yaois I like I dont see myself staying for long, I would just stick with novels/shows and sometimes shounen Ai. so after years, like you said I really do feel like a big pervert
