I think it’s Atel and her family that ruin the empire after finding out she died and how she died. Because the prince and the queen killed her they probably lost all loyalty to the kingdom. Atel obviously loves her even as just a friend (during past life), so it would make sense he’d go on a rampage after killing one of his only friend if not only friend.
