I actually started cause I was expecting something similar to 10 Dance but I couldn't continue watching it seeing how horrible it is.

I'm not getting into this, that's just what I think but I also see why you think 10 dance is better and I respect your opinion.

Why are you comparing them? They have literally no connection whatsoever. The only thing similar is they're about sports/dancing and have hints of BL (well, 10 Dance IS BL but they only hint at it at first).
Anyways, if you're gonna compare, do it with other animés similar to YOI.

They are actually pretty similar to the point that I think the creators of Yuri on ICE took inspiration from 10 Dance if you look at the story itself it's kinda similar. Characters with opposite personalities and looks from different countries with the same name want to go into a big competition. The world champion (Shinya is only second but still) is thinking about retiring because he can't surprise the audience anymore. He decides to teach a guy who admires and who made it to big competitions but had to skip years. Also Yuri finding his feminine side and thinking how Viktor could impregnate him is very similar to when Suzuki had to be a woman and said that now he can have millions of babies.

I definitely agree. So much as i love 10 dance, Yuri!! On Ice is holding its position at the right place, it isnt even BL yet and it takes the sport as a seruous plot, it shows how yuuri developed his character each every episode, it focus on the confidence to dance your story with emotions, its not not even cliched that the crowds that are cheering for yuuri is cheering because the author decided that the audience will think its the best, man we see how yuuri struggles on every skate, even the skate championship is realistic, even the finalists sometimes fail the moves theyve already learned, and only the top contender has flawless moves, example, yuzuru (if i remember the name correctly) hanyu is like tge victor nikiforov here. 10 dance is also a sport dance but it tags BL means it will focus on the two men's development more than the dance plot, both shinya's are good dancers or so what we read from the author, at the emotions and posture, yes they are both alluring but we dont know how they actually move, it doesnt even focus on the moves but on the skinship. 10 dance is one of my faves and followed BL right now, as a BL it is definitely on the top chain. Im not angry, i just.. Agreed thats its irrelevant and unfair to compair them, Yuri!! on Ice focus on dance with a story development while 10 dance focus on dance with chemistry.

I love 10 dance too, but I think what Yuri on ice wants to convey is totally different from 10 dance.

Besides, the person who wrote the plot is a guy who's not even fujoshi or fudanshi, and he even said on twitter that he waned to write about deep healthy relationship which doesn't involve romance.

The focus of it is not to compare Victor and two Yuris, but for Yuri to gain confidence in himself and his talents to blossom through Victor's trust and encouragements. Also to realize that though he always felt that he was fighting on his own, there were in fact many people who loved and supported him.
I am NOT watching YOI for queer baiting. I find it very touching to see Yuri, who had little confidence find the true diamond hidden in himself and start to be able to like himself and shine.
I find it so moving that Yuri and other ice skaters put everything into their practice, with such desperate feelings, because they know that the lifespan of a figure skater is so short. And that's what makes the performances so precious too.
I don't see why you have to criticize YOI so much. I respect your opinion that you didn't find YOI interesting, but I think you don't see the main point of the anime and its spirit enough to criticize it.

If you felt that YOI was just about Victor teaching Yuri to be sexy like how Suzuki was doing with Sugiki, I want to state it clearly that that was NOT the main point.
(cause yes, Victor's teachings were not shown in detail, and too weak as a content if that was the real deal)

The whole exciting feeling of figure skating performances and the characters ' growth are the real deal, and so well expressed in YOI considering how fast paced it is and only 7 episodes has been released.

Why do we have to say which is better? I thought Yuri!!! On ice was very romantic and the animation is beautiful... But to be honest Yuri on ice would be even better if it focused a little more on technical stuff about figure skating... (Also the premise is absurde... Since the best figure skater in the world would never quit to become someone else's teacher... Ti would hace madera perfect sense if Victor was five years older and had retired being an international competitor and then had decided to become a coach , after becoming a legend... Budontdon't care much about the inconsistencies. ..)

Might be referring to when Fumichi was drugged and raped in the back alley--cuz that was a thing that happened and we saw a shot of the guy clearly doing him in the back door. Feel so bad for Fumichi :'(. Rape is NOT OK, GUYS!!!

It's not, I'm glad that this manga didn't use it as something that's not a big deal (he obviously was at least a bit traumatized by that, and he obviously have depression), or to advance the plot like other authors do (I'm looking at you, MOEGI sensei!)
