This was not a happy ending. This may have looked like one, but it very much was not. Both have inflicted mental and physical pain on eachother in an unhealthy manner. But, this was made horribly. And I mean that in a good way. The plot is so disgusting and terrible that it captured the disgusting parts and makes it seem so realistic. So, this was beautifully written. As someone who has gone through something like this, it's an almost perfect way to show. No one got/gets their happy ending. It leaves it's mark on you forever.

This is probably my new favorite bl I've ever read. It used to be Stigma, which I 100% recommend although it does have very dark themes, but the way this shows oppression not only for minorities, but for lqbtq+ individuals. Such a good book, damn. 100% recommended.
