Idk if it was just me but FL felt lacking. At first I was frustrated bc I thought she’d know more since she read the novel, but then I realized Azef’s story would’ve been ambiguous since he wasn’t the MC (also, realistically, who the hell remembers the specifics of a novel they read). But even knowing her “father” killed his family, she didn’t seem to harbor any ill will towards him or even try to figure out what was going on. I guess what I’m saying is her lack of personality is frustrating and she even seems a little insane (like trying to scratch off the seal... I thought she saw Azef as a mere character so I suppose I underestimated how much she cared for him?? Though her nightmares did touch on the degree of her feelings) ... After being sent to another world I guess going crazy isn’t that surprising, but doesn’t she realize the advantages she has for knowing the outcome of future events? It seems I’ve read too many stories with spunky and confident FLs.... tbh her reactions and hesitance were pretty normal considering the situation she’s in, but I wish she had more substance. She seemed more comical and tomboyish in her old world. Plus I thought she would’ve seen through the fact that Azef doesn’t truly love her yet,,,, I guess if she thinks this it would be harder for her to love him innocently.. AGHGH *furiously scratches head*. I want to believe making her character this way serves a greater purpose but idk// the more I write the more I realize the female lead is kinda realistic compared to those memorization maniac female leads who know the workings of the kingdom and specific details about characters from reading a novel once... but unrealistic is kinda fun, ya know? Well, that trope is overused and this series kept me on the edge the whole time, so props!
I like how she didn’t suddenly become a pure-hearted and kind angel on the inside. Even though this makes it difficult to like her genuinely, the story is more interesting because she still has villainess-like traits (Exploiting teacher Sarah’s kindness and calling the guards dogs...plus her rather... scary temper). I do hope she has a change of heart though. Also I’m worried using the hourglass will harm her somehow..
Its fun seeing her be evil but im so worried that she will faint from the hourglass or get really sick.
