I saw something on twitter and would like to know some of you opinions. it was about someone reimaging how haikyuu characters if they were trans and it feeds into a lot of stereotypes about trans people and how they act, also it fantasying them having gender dysmorphia . I would like to know how people from the community think of it because i'm not apart of the lgbt community. link: https://twitter.com/martiansyrup/status/1384577062644731904?s=20
i think personally its fine. its great representation, and i've seen a lot of great people do head canons, art, etc on them like @sakusasleftfoot on tiktok, whos trans themselves. they do a lot of super good head canons on characters and the ships so yea. the gender dysphoria, etc, is what every trans person goes through, period. showing that off and normalizing it, i think is great to not make people feel alone etc. it wasn't romanticizing anything, it was simply showing how they would be like if they were trans.
Haha woah so kinda a wtf moment I personally think the twitter thread of the ratings were pretty roode and it feels like theyre pointing out things they'd be insecure about idk how to explain it
Kinda disrespectful to the trans community openly stereotyping them and picking these stereotypes onto characters people like(sorry if this is confusing im just shocked)
If this helps any Im pansexual and nonbinary if stereotypes like this were pushed onto my sexuality or gender identity id be pretty upset ( ̄へ ̄)

there's no stereotypes though, this is what many trans people go through, its great representation tbh.

But they are not trans, and I feel like to make representation for group you make new characters not give them the leftovers

so ships can't happen either because they're no canonically gay..? it doesn't make sense. representation can come in many ways, and the head canons people have are honestly really good, and make people feel a lot more included.

You can ship characters all you want but just because it representation doesn't mean it's good. And I personally don't think it's ok to force a sexuality on someone just to make you feel ok.

no one forcing them though, its representation that happens in many forms. we know they're not gay, lesbian, trans etc, but the thing we put out are a "what if" they were. these head canons are the same as fan fic, ships, fanon etc, except there's actual good portrayal of us. another thing you wrote was fantasizing them as trans, it isn't a fantasy, more like a parallel universe of what would happen if___
I know I'm really late to this but I find it very weird and uncomfortable. Also being friends with a trans person I know if they saw this they would be supper mad and weirder out

Right. Like a lot of people wouldn't be comfortably with that.
This dude has done so many nasty stuff like look at underage kids in a very perverted way like,HOW do you like someone like that???? other than his looks and his powers he is just a perverted character. But I do find his abilities cool tho.
