He promises Sid that he would safe him. Sid tells him, he'll play along but only for show.
Back to Cain and Sid fighting, Sid's planning something but hell if the author let us know what exactly at any point in the story yet ^^
In the end the "chains" on Jin get severed which happens when the one who put them there gets killed or very badly injured.
