idk if it's just me but I don't think yuno actually wants to be wizard king.

since they were kids, asta had no magic yet he was always striving to protect those he loved even if it meant he'd have to accept the consequences himself. yuno's wind magic was commendable despite his emotional disposition but the mental capacity needed to enhance that was basically nonexistent. they were both gifted but lacking in opposite ways. asta was mentally and emotionally strong even without magic. yuno was magically adept even though he was reliant.

but in a world where magic is everything yuno, despite having a huge amount of magic, still felt that he was at a disadvantage because of his inability to act on conviction. and after asta got hurt saving him, he feels even more inferior but in a reawakening way. "this person without a single drop of magic is capable of whatever he pushes himself to do, so how come I - someone with magic - is not able to do the same?" being wizard king meant being able to protect the people he cared about and at the same time, being with asta along the way. asta is basically his compass; the map that lead him the way.

yuno doesn't want to become wizard king because he was inspired by asta's dreams. he wants to become like asta because he realized his own dreams through him. yuno wants to protect people like asta protected him. becoming the wizard king shouldn't be the only way to do that.

in short yuno is the biggest simp for asta LMAO

    Preach it

Preach it. For people who say he stole Asta's dream. It's like a 'yeah' and 'no'. For exactly that reason you just said. Boy just trying to be like the person he most admires. Being 'wizard king' is just the way he thought would give him the same strength that he saw Asta with. Being 'wizard king' is just his means to get to his end "being a person who fights and never gives up like Asta".

People are just mad that asta always gets the shorter end of the stick and probably taking it out this way.
I personally don't like Yuno, i think his character development has a long way to go. It has not matured the same way we see Asta growing and ig this kinda agitates people to say that he "stole" his dream or whatever.

i love how anticlimactic this story is. kylus's character is also very unpredictable and fresh - something I've never seen from a male lead of an isekai story lmaooo

that ass can sit on me 24/7

nanamin ❤ December 7, 2020 8:21 am

at this point it's not even about proving who's toxic and not. it's about laughing the heck at the 12-15 year olds in tiktok and twitter threatening yeongha and desperately trying to prove their bias "deserves better" just because they think he's hot LMAOOO yall know which dumbass stans I'm talking about. we got this in the bag ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

nanamin ❤ December 6, 2020 4:38 pm

the author herself has shared her shortcomings in creating the story. i hope everyone understands that. please read the notes of the last chapter

nanamin ❤ December 6, 2020 2:07 pm

i would kill to have as much childhood background from byul in LIAL as hoyeon in the story. this is perfection

nanamin ❤ December 6, 2020 10:38 am

ugh people who allow themselves to be defined by jealousy and obsession towards someone is a no no

WTFFF THIS WAS AMAZINGGGG

this was released in 2008 with the series in 2012. you can already get that it was a different time which is why I consider this story a standard to sports anime. the tropes, cliches and the plot itself may be awful for most but that's just cause we now live in a time where there's better anime out there. but back in the day knb was THE anime i waited every lunch time to watch on tv despite being nudged on the head by my uncle who wanted to watch "real basketball" in a different channel. new readers don't get the hype when the op song starts or when kuroko passes the ball to kagami or when a player goes into the zone. it's phenomenal honestly.

I agree I think this was more intense action focused than most sport anime that time and influenced a lot of today's sport anime
