am i the only one who doesnt understand why the store fight was SO damn important?
it happened off school campus, there was literally no follow up with the purple haired kid who actually got hit, and as far as the school is concerned, it literally never happened due to no video camera proof. its all hearsay, and the teacher cannot prove what he saw since the owner refuses to meet him again.
i dont understand why it was such a huge plot point for the ending. cirrus' toxicness felt extremely forced and un-fleshed out, unlike the beginning where it felt everything he did had multiple layers.
also skylar waiting outside his house was cringe af, and a threat to the property in the maids/butlers pov, since theres no way to confirm if hes there to steal from cirrus, if hes actually a friend, etc. in no world should skylar be able to just stand all day everyday outside a very wealthy persons house like that.
all in all, s1 was the peak of the story. much like a majority of stories, due to all the mystery and excitement in figuring out plot points.
yes, its important on the emotional level between skylar and cirrus only, but bringing it up for the disciplinary action case made absolutely no sense. the teacher had no physical evidence (the video proof he has was basically an eyewitness atp, since the manager never provided him an actual copy of the tape), and it had nothing to do with any of the parents there. it makes no sense to constantly bring it up, especially since the teacher felt like he came out of nowhere. felt like the author just wanted to self insert themselves as a guardian figure to help her own characters or some shit
I have to disagree because to me it actually made sense .
Disciplinary action: to me it also made sense because if Cirrus kept getting the fault for both incidents - conviene store and Dongsik - he would have had to really go abroad. This way the fault is evenly distributed and they both have learnt something from it.
Also regarding the video footage: we are not 100% sure if Prof Lee couldn’t have insisted about it because in the end end Prof Lee gave Skylar the option to be true to himself and admit his fault bc he already knew that Cirrus had taken all the blame.
If Prof Lee insisted he could have gotten the footage.
Prof Lee since S1 has been looking over Skylar and also over Cirrus so it’s not really out of nowhere him being a guardian in this sense.
ngl i did kinda laugh at first at the last panel. but then i forgot that both anya and bond have supernatural powers. even the ufo theory is not completely unplausible (read below), but even looking at damians older brother (the only person that anya fails to read their mind), it's a little obvious that the father dabbed into human experimentation, and probably used his own son for research (or maybe he has a mental disorder, which would limit anyas powers. she cant be overpowered if things are to get more serious)
we also have to remember that anya cannot read minds on one day of the lunar cycle (whether it was a full moon or no moon, i cant remember). this is why she was not able to cheat her way through the entrance exam, but thanks to loid and yor's charisma they got through it anyways lol.
i completely forgot about the supernatural side of the story, and thought of melindas interest in dark arts completely unrelated. but if anyas powers have to do with the lunar cycle out of all things then its not just human superpowers derived from experimentation, but also some sort of magic sourced from an otherworldly being (hence why in this world, ufos could very well be implemented somewhere. the ufos could be something that channels said magic from super distant planet to earth. a huge reach and i could be completely wrong about all of this, but if even loid delved into ufo research its worth considering)
i think anya was considered a failed experiment, a body who could not handle or control such powerful magic from literally, the universe, which is why she was put up for adoption.
i wonder what the human experimenters goals are, to create a special forces army to win the power struggle? or for societal/technological advancement with the help of super geniuses?
that also brings the question of what happens to the alumni, especially the stellar students of the school? we do see their portraits in the halls, but they never appear as characters again, even as business owners or anything. either they were recruited into secret forces or maybe the author just wants to keep things simple.
fuck... whyd they have to draw the top so beautiful.. i cant figure it out but its obviously different from how the artist drew any other character in the manwha and in sadistic beauty.
shit looks too goddamned good, i cant drop this shit plot thats basically romanticizing the horribly nth room victim stories :sob:
I was thinking about it too, and if I had to venture a guess, I’d say the reason Jooyeon looks unique is because he looks more like how Lee Geumsan draws female characters, i.e. paler skin, longer lashes, rounder eyes, pinker lips. He has a muscular build like Minho and Wookyung from Sadistic beauty, but he has a very delicate face. And also, this story isn’t based on the nth room incident. It’s just become the subject of a very weird disinformation campaign on twitter. There just happen to be numerous triggering subjects being touched on with varying and often questionable degrees of sensitivity. But nothing directly derived from real life criminal cases!
Yea, also the eyes are more detailed around the bottom end, giving a very slight circular shape despite his eyes being straight edged/ upturned. They're just drawn with way more detail, also his lips are drawn differently from basically everyone elses lol.
The contrast with his hair and especially the tanner guy also helps make him stand out better I guess, not even byun from sadistic beauty had this much contrast.
About the nth room, it still feels eerily similar to alot of the cases I've heard of.
Or maybe these weirdos into torture porn (if you can even call it that) have already exhausted all their different types of victimizing, so even if it's not inspired it cant really get any more creative than this :p
The characters here are not fleshed out at all , FL is typical happy go lucky girl despite having such a harsh life, of course she can't be a downer because that wouldn't make her angelic and pure enough to save the typical loser shut in negative ML.
ML did have potential when he started opening up about his past, seemed like the story would go more into his personal character and how he branched away from his parents control, but nope. Somehow he just randomly fucked off to Europe and made friends with 0 actual depth while also somehow stalking FL in Japan??
FL is also stupid as hell,if you're going to write a yandere story they either have to be equally deranged or the "pure" victim has to be interesting enough and fleshed out so that they actually feel like a real character and not just some shitty insert for whatever trope you're failing to write out.
So there is surprisingly some lore in this. The only weird part is how masturbating keeps the so called "mindless roaming energy" ghosts away, out of all things a man from a shaman family could figure out..? Really? Well it's just plot for the smut.
But I'm thinking, maybe the man who named the girl is a descendant of mcs family? And they were very well involved? My first guess was that my was the reincarnation of the man who called her by her name, but that doesn't make too much sense.
Another theory regards the smell she mentioned? MC is a descendant of the man who named her, and she chases mc because she can smell the bloodline of his family or something... Idk need more details to come up with a plausible explanation.
Female lead also mentions chasing after MC and "finally" having him in her hands. Seems like since she became a ghost, she was chasing mc, but time passed and mc went from edo period to modern era (this is only plausible if my reincarnation theory is correct)
Dunno, but this is the first time I'm seeing good smut and good plot (besides the seemingly random ghosts only going away after he cums, they never mentioned that they're sexual ghosts or anything, so def just a smut plot point)
