Don't worry. I think he just had a cold or something like that and they gave him IV to make him stronger so he recovers faster. In some countries it's pretty common to do that even if a person hasn't got a serius illness.

I'm trying to fight anyone on this matter but back then women was considered mature at ages 12-13 and often married off. At the beginning Emel is 18 and she's 11 and it's been a few years I think where we are now but back then the age differences seemed normal because men were considered mature at age 18.
